Unicable (SCR) LNB

Post by greatballbreaker »

Hi friends,
does the freesat v7 support a Unicable (SCR) LNB?

v8 should support it, but I am not sure for v7.

Thank you :)

I saw in some youtube videos that in freesat v7/v8 there are two options for UNICABLE (SCR) LNB:
- UNICABLE A
- UNICABLE B
What is the difference between A and B?
I have a shared antenna with 2 neighbours with a Unicable (scr) lnb having 1 scr port (for me) and 2 legacy ports (for my neighbours).
How should I set up the receiver?

Hi Feralkiwi, thank you for the link!
Indeed I had already red it but it did not solve my doubts.

Can you post here the menu entries (or some screenshots if simplier for you) associated with the UNICABLE A/UNICABLE B entry in the antenna settings of the freesat v7? Maybe looking at them I could understand if I can correctly set up the receiver with my antenna.

Thanks again for any information :)

I found these IF frequencies.
I think the frequency band is split into 4 or 8, or 4x8=32, I just don't know.
IF Channel 1 /1210MHz
IF Channel 2 /1420MHz
IF Channel 3 /1680MHz
IF Channel 4 /2040MHz
These would be set by the "IF_Channel" on the V7.

From this site I find these frequencies that I think go into the "Center_Freq" on your V7.
www.inverto.tv
CH 0 : 1076.06 MHz
CH 1 : 1178.12 MHz
CH 2 : 1280.18 MHz
CH 3 : 1382.24 MHz
CH 4 : 1484.30 MHz
CH 5 : 1586.36 MHz
CH 6 : 1688.42 MHz
CH 7 : 1790.48 MHz

Your Unicable equipment may have different frequencies form this list.

Then from this site
This Set is configured following:
1x 32 Channel Unicable
1x LNB Satellite DiSEqC A
1x LNB Satellite DiSEqC B
I see that the "A" or "B" option maybe for using a DiSEqC switch between two sats.
So for sat 1 named as you like "Your local sat" set for "Unicable A" and for the other sat "Your local Sat2" set for "Unicable B".

What you need to find out is what frequency is allocated to your room.
If you use any setting you choose, you may stop someone else from using their TV.
Someone in your apartment block should be able to tell you what your allocation is or what frequency is not yet used.
If you can look at the LNB on the dish your room feeds from you can find the brand and type of Unicable LNB and look for its details on the net.

As I do not have this Unicable equipment I can not test and this is the best I know from looking on the net.
