Has anyone else done this ?

Looks cool "literally"
I was thinking about double sided tape.
Could it just be stuck on top & use a 12v wall-wart to power the fan.
Or are the case-fins too small to let enough air flow in ?
Hate to cut a round hole in the case.

Another thought.
Maybe sit the receiver on top of a lap-top cooler.
Tried the PC fan on top without case modification & result was poor.
Not getting much air-flow through the slots.
Still hate to take it apart & cut a round hole in the top.
A small desktop fan pointed at it works but is rather noisy.
Hate to just let it cook. (LOL)

Re: V7-HD Fan
I took the top off and drilled several vent holes inside of an outline of the fan I was going to use, then screwed a small 12 v fan to it. I run the fan on a wall-wart regulated down to to about 8VDC Provides plenty of air circulation but keeps the noise level down
Initially I powered just spliced into the 12V line that powers the receiver, but that was too noisy.
Had done the same thing to my older Amiko and GeosatPro Micro receivers.
I'll post a photo in a while.

Re: V7-HD Fan
Yep, modification is necessary.
I went ahead & took the lid off mine.
Gonna cut a round hole a little smaller than the fan.
And go with two staggered screws for the mounting.
I found a 9V wall-wart to power the fan.
As was pointed out that will keep the noise level down.
I wonder whats up with that silver screen glued to the inside of the lid ?
Dust filter maybe ?
I tossed it since it was in the way of the modifications.

Re: V7-HD Fan
I took a 5V fan out of a computer cooler and plugged in the welds on the ends of the usb
