Frence 24 video problem Isat19@166e.

Hi

I now have two users with V7's that are having issues with France24 off intelsat19@166e Ku band.
The audio comes through but the video skips and blacks out.

My V8 Golden is getting this OK.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Apsattv here in New Zealand has reported to me, via NZ Digitla TV forum, that France24 is using an odd resolution on Intelsat19@166e.

Here is a comparison of two channels on the same TP.

This has occurred before with 1280*1080 pix , not the 1920*1080

Freesat Please note: The V8 Golden / Super models do not have this problem, but the V7's do.
The V7 models do not display these resolutions. 640 x 720 and 1280x1080

I have just installed the July 20, 2018 update into one of my V7 Max........and you'll never guess what has started happening as a result.

Pity, 'cause it's a channel I have been watching regularly, and no problems with the previously installed software which, from memory, was from around May.

RT and Euronews are thumping in (ditched the 90cm offset, and now using a 1.5m solid prime focus and Inverto LNB), as is the France 24 signal.....but the latter is totally unusable.

Also getting lots of random hangups requiring a power-down whilst moving around in different menus and performing different actions.

Getting to the point with these units that updating the software is not such a good idea any more.

Do some severals Factory Reset and reload the firmware. It might be a bug somewhere

I replaced my friends V7HD unit with the new V7s to fix France24 off isat19@166e.

What older version were you getting it with on your Max before you updated?

My mistake, Owen……seems I have been receiving the IS19 Ku stuff through one of my Strong boxes.

Tried numerous factory resets and software updates from Dec ’17, and March, May, and July ’18 on the V7 Max….all with the same result…cactus France 24.

No such problem with the 4922’s and the 4930’s, which are all much older boxes.

I can understand having issues with encrypted stuff (which doesn’t interest me), but issues with international FTA channels that have been around for yonks??

I’ve spent hundreds of hours on these Freesat boxes over the last two years, and I don’t really see that much progress for the effort.

Back to the old tried and proven for me….lesson learned (again)…..you get what you pay for........thanks for your help.

France 24 on Isat19@166e has a video format size is an odd size, it looks like a computer screen size.
The codex in the V7's do not have this size.

Some tech somewhere set their box to this odd size for transmission, as the feed off Asiasat 7@105.5e is still OK in the normal size and works on the V7's.
If you speak French you can get France24 in French off Isat18@180e FTA.
