Manual input powervu keys?
How do I input the powervu keys manually?
I have tried to input a set of keys for the A F N channels on 9e but not sure what to input in the key edit section:
Provider?
Idx?
Keydata?
Got the following info from another site-

Re: Manual input powervu keys?
My latest (the last two days) for A F N on 180e is;
P 0000 00 602A6CF7CF8F63;1800:04175:03679:H ;
P 0000 01 CD630130F85220;1800:04175:03679:H ;
Note this is the format that the Freesat units use.
The "1800" is the longitude of the sat.
A sat at 45.7e is "0345" (3600-345=3255)
177w West use 1830 (3600-1770)
Intelsat 903 @ 34.5° West – 4126 L 3680 would be for A F N;
P 0000 00 602A6CF7CF8F63;3255:04126:03680:H
P 0000 01 CD630130F85220;3255:04126:03680:H
As I find more of these on my sofcam.key file, they must be changing the code often.
My older codes are;
P 0000 00 6DADC79AAD00CF;1800:04174:03679:H ;
P 0000 01 A7B1C1A3B3935C;1800:04174:03679:H ;
P 0000 00 602A6CF7CF8F63;1800:04175:03679:H ;
P 0000 01 CD630130F85220;1800:04175:03679:H ;
I have found if there are too many keys for the same TP in the softcam.key file the freesat units take a long time to try them all and sometimes don't find them.
I think they try every key "01" with every key "00" on the list for that TP, not just how they are paired up.
When the units find a new code they only write a new line for the half of the code that has changed, ie just the key "01", and use the key "00" from else where on the list.
Another thing is when the code changes, like the code for MTN changed in the last 20 minutes, the unit stays on the channel and shows blank for that channel and all the other channels on that TP. The unit does not then look for a new code until it is powered off and on, or you do a scan. I think this restarts the log for the codes the unit has just used.
You can see you "softcam.key" file by "Exporting" it from the conditional access menu to a USB stick.
Note the unit will over write any softcam.key file on your USB stick.
I rename, date and save my files for backup.

Re: Manual input powervu keys?
will try later...
so for example:
Provider 0000
Idx: 00
Keydata: 602A6CF7CF8F63
or if the Idx is 01 then the Keydata would be CD630130F85220

Re: Manual input powervu keys?
For manual entry you need to do the entry twice, once for idx 00 and another line/ entry for idx 01.
you need to add the TP info and sat longitude as you enter the code with all the ; and :
eg;
602A6CF7CF8F63;1800:04175:03679:H ; A F N
602A6CF7CF8F63 the key code,
1800 the satellite longitude. For 105.5e = 1055, for 43.7w = 3600-437=3163, for 177w = 1830 (3600-1770)
04175 transponder frequency
03679 Transponder symbol rate
H transponder polarity
anything written after the last semi-colon (;) is not used and is a reference of what the code is for, eg "A F N"
The easy way is to type the lines into "Notepad" on a computer and save the file as softcam.key
Start this by "Exporting" your softcam.key file from the "Conditional Access" menu onto a USB stick and open it with Notepad on your computer.
Then add the extra lines you need and then "Import" it back in.
Watch that you don't get too many duplicates of the same keys.

Yes a very helpful and useful man indeed, 顶!
Very grateful if you might as well teach how to input biss keys and tandberg keys by note pad.

Re: Manual input powervu keys?
Looks OK.
180-133=47
47+180=227 so yes 2270
The way they have it set is all longs in the code list are east, so west lons are converted to east long of 180 to 359.9

Thanks for confirming 2270. Must be still doing something wrong. I know the keys are right but still in dark. Back to drawing board. This is for GT orange.

Remember some channels changed hash mode so will not open.
The new software out today has the new hash modes.
Try a capital "P". I don't know if make a difference.

Re: Manual input powervu keys?
I am trying to input power vu keys manually. I am taking the info off my Hellobox and writing my softcam.key on my computer and then importing that onto my V8 Super via a USB flash drive. I cannot get any of them to work though. I did find a key on the Internet and wrote it and imported it. That key did work. However, the key for the exact same transponder was different from the one on my Hellobox. Can anyone answer me about this?

Re: Manual input powervu keys?
I have a V8 Super. A friend told recently told me they autoroll, but I have not been able to get any Power vu keys to come in. Is there anything besides hooking up a wifi antenna and connecting the wifi?
I recently updated my V8 Super using the upgrade from this forum. Before the update it showed a V8 screen when booting up. Now it shows the GT Media screen. I would suppose I used the correct update for my unit. Could this be the reason it doesn't autoroll? I have no idea if it would autoroll before this as I had never tried until after the update.
Your assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Manual input powervu keys?
Ok, I finally got keys in manually. What I was not doing on my end was after putting in the keys I needed to open my mouth just right and flip the power switch off and back on. Then the keys worked !! Now to be able to import keys thru softcam.key. I have not been able to do that yet I keep getting error when trying. Later

Re: Manual input powervu keys?
You do not need the wifi for a powervu key to work or for auto roll of a powervu key.ftauser wrote:I have a V8 Super. The opening screen change some time back as Freesat changed their brand to Gt Media.
Note there are two types of powervu key, ECM and EMM.
The EMM key is used to auto roll ECM keys.
This from a forum discussion here.
It may be that you are coping EMM keys from your Helbox.groupid= 004e

Re: Manual input powervu keys?
The keys you get from your other box are NOT in plain language.... they are scrambled so they cannot be used in another make of box.... exactly the problem you are getting.ftauser wrote:I am trying to input power vu keys manually.
