Bad new software 23/05/2017 still does not work motor by USUAL and DiSEqC 1.2 protocols. My LNBs (universal and circular) connected to motor through DiSEqC 1.0. Motor does not moves to any sattelite position. Please fix it.

This is caused by the power supply switching frequency being close or at 22kHz, the 22kHz tone frequency used by DiSEqC commands.
This is a hardware problem.

I used my finder on a Sky New Zealand dual LNB dish and I found I had pointed the dish using the second LNB due to the 22kHz tone being "ON".
When I connected the STB I got no signal as I was on the wrong sat.
Its a real pain and makes the V8 Finder unworkable on any 22kHz tone operated equipment, like Universal LNB's.

Have a look at my review here.

Yes I agree.
It would be useful to have the encryption menu in the finder for fine tuning TP's with encrypted only channels.
This would also make the V8 finder a useful handheld satellite TV.

Also WiFi and CCcam options would be good additional functions.

Also, when working, the input block (antenna connector) is heated quite strongly (noticeably) and the processor is significantly larger. In the case of the processor, the problem can partly be solved by installing a radiator. Why, in part, because of the side of the board with the installed processor, there are no ventilation holes in the case. And I do not know whether the input block is heated, whether we decide at all. Heating in this case - increased current consumption, leading to an accelerated discharge of the battery.

Edited 9 June 2017: 20170606 version of software has fixed this.

I did some more testing.

Thank you Yes "Exit" does work when you do an "Auto" scan but does not work for a "Blind" scan.
I got one exit to work on a blind scan after already doing an exit on an auto scan and then going to blind scan, but I could not then move to "Yes" or exit, I was frozen.
Power off / on is still faster to stop a "Blind" scan.
Note; this is tested with no LNB connected, so no "TP" is found. The auto scan does find and list TP's so this may be the answer, you can exit after you find a TP.

Please try this Lining, you may have missed it.

This is due to the 22kHz ripple from the power supply in the V8 Finder that is a hardware problem and can not be fixed with firmware.

This problem with 22kHz is only with the V8 Finder, the other products do not have this problem

There's a problem using cband lnb with 22k switch. When 22k switch set to off, not all TP locked. Any clue mate?

Yes. The V8 Finder power supply has a 22kHz ripple. This is a hardware design fault.
It acts like the 22kHz tone is always "ON".
The V8 finder can not be used on any DiSEqC switch or universal LNB low band or any equipment that uses 22kHz, like USALS.

I have asked for a hardware modification, like adding a component to the unit but I have had no response.

Hi Everyone,

Looking into the development so far, just a weird idea how about adding a 5" raspberry pi display along with powerbank to my existing V-8 golden. Probably this arrangement will give me more flexibility and portability plus the best part would be, this solution still will be more economic than V-8 sat finder.

How did this sound?

I had thought of this for some time.
A small 7" AV screen and a 12v battery with the V7HD.
The result would be as small as the screen and just a bit thicker.

Better for those of us with our eyes going.

Yes I did a V8 Finder recovery.
I did not try the V7HD software, as the software would not upload as it has different flags and is not compatible.
Please see my instructions here for V8 Finder RS232 Recovery.
