Re: freesat v8 finder help
I don't understand what you need.
If you are not getting vertical channels but not horizontal channels then check that you have the correct LNB settings, select "Auto".
Remember that the V8 Finder does not switch DiSEqC switches.

I came to the factory settings the device continues to malfunction,
Re: freesat v8 finder help
Go to the satellite menu and then press "Back". This will take you to the TP Menu.
Here you can manually enter TP's.
"ADD" a H TP for the sat you are looking at.
Does this work?
The h/v light on the finder should be Green for a H TP when you are on a channel with H.

Re: freesat v8 finder help
Yes. The V8 finder power supply has a ripple that is close to the 22kHz frequency.
This is why the finder can not switch DiSEqC, or use the lower half of a universal LNB.

Re: freesat v8 finder help
I think the motherboard is defective, where can ı find the motherboard, or which part of the motherboad is corrupted.
Re: freesat v8 finder help
I see from the picture that you are using a DiSEqC switch.
As I have said the V8 Finder will not switch DiSEqC due to the 22kHz ripple from the power supply.
Also you have the LNB frequency set to 9750/10600. That is a universal LNB.
These types of LNB switch from the low band to the high band by turning on the 22kHz tone.
Because the power supply ripple acts like a 22kHz tone "ON" only the high band part of the LNB can be used.
I have some times switched a DiSEqC 1.0 switch with my Finder if I change channel from a Vertical channel to a Vertical channel.
Then I can change to a H channel on the same switch port.
You may have more luck with the finder connect direct to the LNB, not through the DiSEqC switch, but you will still not be able to access the low band on your universal LNB.
All Freesat V8 Finders do this.
It is not a faulty board, it is a faulty design.

Re: freesat v8 finder help

Re: freesat v8 finder help
Does your dish work with other satellite receivers?
I wonder if the problem is your LNB?
To check if you can get that TP 12245 H 27500 from you location, try this:
Mark your LNB with a pen so you know where it is now. A circle around for the depth in and a line across for the rotation.
Then rotate the LNB 90 degrees. Left or right it does not matter.
Then change the TP info from "H" to "V". 12245 H 27500
Because the LNB is rotated 90 degrees the V section will now pick up the H signal.
Also: With the lNB as normal, When you do a blind scan the freesat box will scan the low band H first then the low band V and the H high and V high next.
When the scan is scanning do you see the V TP's scanned twice?
If so this means your LNB is not switching to H.
This could be the Finder at fault or the LNB.
When the finder is on a H channel the voltage on the LNB cable should be 18 volts.
You could test this with a multi meter. Be very careful not to short the LNB cable.
Do this with just the Finder connected, no switch etc. I have found that shorts on the output of DiSEqC switches burns the port to "ON" full time.
This can cause problems with multi dish setups as the signals for two sats interfere with each other and you lose signals for both.

Re: freesat v8 finder help
That confirms it.
Your V8 Finder is faulty.
If you can, return it to your supplier.
If like me you buy through Aliexpress, they always want the unit returned to them for you to get a replacement.
This means it costs more to return than buying a new one.
I wish you luck with your supplier.

Re: freesat v8 finder help
Where can I found freesat v8 mainbord?
Re: freesat v8 finder help
A new mother baord would likely costs as much as a whole unit.
You could try emailing Freesat.
Their email is at the bottom of their .cc page.
