This has been reported my many Finder V73 users.
30% signal and never get any satellite to work on their finders.
I am beginning to think this is a hardware solder splash fault in the receiver RF box, like that reported by some V9 users.

Hi,

Just received my Finder.
Screen has a spec in the middle of the plastic, a small round scrape. Not Nice.

Signal-4 Q-30 with no cable connected.
Put on a motorized LNB that I use to watch Free Sats like 103W (Cozi and NBC), and 87.1w (LPB channels).
These channels have Signal strength 92/93 and Quality in 70s on 2 different V8X receivers.

The SatFinder scanned all the sats, found NOTHING, and finished with YES!

I then connected it to a C-Band LNB on 58w.
It showed SS 60's (should be 90's) and Quality also about 20 points lower than on the V8X's.

Is mine defective? Should I return it?

I would love to have feedback from GTMedia please.

Yes this has been found by a few users.

Talk with your supplier.

Hi Team,

Actually, let me start by passing out apologies all around.

My Finder has lower signal than V8X but Quality shows the same.

I had a Disecq switch between finder and LNB on Motorized dish.
When I removed Disecq, ALL SATELLITES come through.

A suggestion for upcoming software would be to allow selecting through a Disecq.
My BUD has C/Ku LNB selected through Disecq, and 90cm motorized has Sidecar LNB mount.

I agree that not many folks do this kind of setup, but for those of us that do, the Disecq option would help.

Thanks, and apologies again.
:D

I recently bought a GTmedia V8 finder meter and it seems the signal quality has a default of 30% even when LNB is not connected. When LNB is connected the quality still reads 30%. This makes it hard to track signals accurately. Is there a patch available for this problem?

Unfortunately I can't get the meter to lock to the MultiStream package on 33E. My basic Golden Interstar Rx has no issues, so this is disappointing. Is this a known issue and is there a planned fix? I have tested direct TP entry and also pre-configured scan.

The finder meter came out before this new multi stream "3" format, so the coding for it is not in the firmware.
They may work a fix.

I looked at some of your video.
I speak English, so could not understand the talking.

The BNC connection is for UHF cable TV connections, not composite video.
The AV input or output on GT Media units needs a 3.5mm plug that is 18mm long.
I think I see you have a short plug.

If this is not your issue, please explain more.

For example, in GT media V8 meter golden the quality is between 75..to 77, but in GT media V8 pro it remains 85%...the same measurement and has been tested on both sides.... I hope it will be fixed in the next updates

Antena power DVB-T only 5V (4,6V) Will 12V support be added?

Has any of you tried using the 13V from the satellite input through a splitter for the source for your 12v DVB-T antenna?

A splitter that is DVB-T frequency and power pass on both ports would work.
Just remember to turn off the 5V power for the DVB-t, but it would not matter if did forget as the diodes in the splitter would block the 5V anyway, just like splitters block 13v / 18V from two set top boxes using satellite.

Particularly high power, low MER and non-working BER.

Hi,

My Finder 2:
The dBµV values in the spectrum view are less the half of the PWR at the info function.
The PWR value seems just too high. A pro will be lucky to get 72 dBµV out of an LNB at a dish size of 80 cm at astra 19.2°. I can't believe that I'm getting 97.2dBµV out of my dish. The measuring of the connection in my living room seems to be too high also, at 93.6 dBµV.

Check that the unit is fully charged.

You could also try a factory reset, remember that will clear your user data, like channel list.

Ola boa tarde!

I will test this with my unit.

Does it restart if the LNB cable is not connected?
This would show if this is software or hardware / over current?

⚠️⚠️⚠️
GT media V8 MAX has significantly lower sensitivity does not accept low symbol rate signals (Eutelsat 16A at 16.0°E (12593 V 2500 and 12699 H 9880)
It was tested with a device from another brand. Max does not read this frequency, but the other device does.
