V7 HD frequencies in DBEditor

Post by Adrian »

Hi, in DBEditor, it lists (for example) Sky (28.2e) channels as TP_4182_21999 for Channel 4. But looking at http://en.kingofsat.net/tv-28.2E.php shows the frequency is 10714.25 and 22000. Where does the V7 HD get 4182 from? I'm trying to manually add the channels it doesn't want to pick up but can't add them using the actual frequency.
And in the DBEditor, all are ending in 999 instead of 000 i.e. 21999 instead of 22000. Does this matter?

Many thanks
Adrian

If your LNB frequency is not set to the correct frequency the unit will scan in the TP's as it calculates them for the LNB frequency it has.
It looks like you have it set to 5150, a C band frequency.
As you are expecting 10714.25 you likely need to set the LNB frequency on the "Satellite Insatllation" (Antenna Setup on V8) menu to 9750, or more likely to 9750/10600.

9750/10600 is the setting for a "Universal" LNB.
These lnb's have two parts, one that is a lnb low of 9750 and another that is 10600.
The STB will switch automatically between these two parts by turning the 22kHz tone on for the 10600 part if you have selected 9750/10600 LNB in the "Satellite Installation" (Antenna Setup in the V8) menu.
You have not got the other channels you are looking for because the STB is not accessing this other part of the LNB
The SR of 21999 instead of 22000 is just from the slight frequency differences in the blind scanning caused by the STB's computer calculations.
This small SR difference does not matter.

The LNB on a sat dish converts the higher frequencies, 10700 to 12700MHz down to 950 to 2160MHz
STB's look at the lower frequency range of 950-2160MHz and calculates the higher frequency based on what value you have told it the LNB has as its "Low Frequency".
Ku Band LNB's convert high end frequencies to high end secondary frequencies.
C band LNB's convert the low end frequencies to high end secondary frequencies.
The STB equates the Low freq as equal to 950MHz, 9750=950 secondary freq, and 5150=950 for C band
.
10714MHz would become 10714 - LNB Low Freq + 950(950 is the lowest freq the STB gets).
So the secondary freq for a LNB with a low freq of 9750, 10714-9750+950=1914
Your 10714 with a lnb low of 9750 becomes 964+950. Backwards 1914-950+(LNB freq setting)9750=10714

With your LNB set to 5150 the STB displays the secondary freq as 5150-(1914-950)=4186. (5150 "-" because the frequencies are high to low for C band)
Your STB, your V7HD, has reported this value, 4182, for the TP 10714.
This slight difference, 4186 v 4182, 4 MHz, is due to you LNB being a little off frequency.

Go to the "Satellite Installation" (Antenna Setup on V8) menu and change the LNB frequency from 5150 to 9750/10600 and then re scan your satellite.
You may like to delete the channels the you already have that are on incorrect TPs, like those on 4182_21999, so that you don't then have two of each.
The quick way to delete these channels is to delete the TP's like 4182_21999 from the TP list.
You access the TP list in the V7HD by going to the Satellite Installation menu and then pressing "Recall" on your remote.

This is a bit more explanation than you needed but may help others as well.
