GT Media V7s HD green LED flashing

Post by WhyDuck »

At some point, the tuner stopped working.
It turned on a green LED.
I read about the flashing procedure, but despite the 2GB fat32 pendrive (I don't have a smaller one) with the Flash.bin file and pressing the menu on the remote control when turning on the tuner, the software is not loaded.

Am I doing this procedure correctly or should it be different ???
I count on your support.

If you have used that same USB pendrive to load firmware updates in the past it should work.

1. You should use the USB slot in the rear of the receiver if it has one.
2. Press the menu button several times (repeatedly) until it enters boot mode.
3. If it still refuses, try using the rear power switch (rocker switch) or pull the power cord to kill power for a few seconds and then back on and then as it auto starts repeatedly press the menu button.
4. It should begin to load the .bin file and you should see on the TV where it says "Do not Power Off" and if the USB has a light you should see the activity light blinking as it loads the file, let it run and it should auto reboot and run normally.

Good Luck ! :D

I use the socket on the back of the device.
2GB and 16GB flash drive (previously loaded with new soft and channel list), Flash.bin or flash.bin file.
There is no on / off switch on the back of the device.
Can only be switched on by inserting the adapter plug into the device.
It is very difficult to do it yourself, at the same time insert the plug and press the buttons on the remote control.
I used the help of another person.
When turned on, only the green LED on the front panel lights up, no response to pressing the MENU button on the remote control. There is no LED blinking on the flash drive.

Maybe in this model there is some other combination of buttons ???

Here are my note on flash.bin recovery

That you are not seeing the LED on your USB flashing is not good.
You may need to do a RS232 recovery.

flash.bin recovery is done like this.

Place a copy of the unpacked software (the .bin file) on a USB stick and rename it "flash.bin"
With the USB in the unit, power on while repeat pressing "Menu" on the remote.
The unit should reload the software.

Also other users say that you must use a USB stick, not a card holder etc and that stick must be 32Gb or under.
Use the rear USB port on units that have two ports.

I have had units that will not recover.
Try using the same software as was in the unit when it crashed, not the new update software.
You must use the correct software, ie that for the V7HD for the V7HD etc, not software for any other freesat units.

Try even older software as the file for flash.bin.

Look at the LED in the USB stick. When the TV shows the message "USB Upgrade, do not turn off" you should see the LED on the USB flash as the file is loaded.
The USB LED should also flash a few times as the unit first powers on and looks at it.
Also users have said to use the rear USB port for this on V8 units.

Good luck

New information: Users are reporting that naming the file "Flash.bin" with a capital has worked where "flash.bin" has not.

e possível Gravar no Equipamento?
