v.7 PLUS t2-MI MultiStream Firmware

Post by Ras Kush »

TO: GT MEDiA SUPPORT
Is it possible to mod a t2-Ml MultiStream firmware for the v.7 PLUS h.265HEVc model?

The v.7s HD model supports t2-MI firmware and there's no reason why the v.7HD PLUS shouldn't be upgraded.

The older V7HD will not have the needed codecs etc in its hardware / firmware.

@Feralkiwi, thanks for the reply. Strangely though the v.7PLUS supports h.265HEVc codecs which places it above "normal" decoder.

Maybe this was a marketing strategy

Sorry yes the V7Plus has H265, I saw your model as V7HD plus and thought of the much older V7HD unit.

There are now many types of multistream. The first type all the units after the V8Pro2 open, but some of the newer types of multistream have not worked yet.
One example is 12470 H 47300 on Optus d1 @160e.

@Feralkiwi, this is my exact argument. I'm based in East Africa and the basic t2-Mi MultiStream patch firmware would work for us.

Interesting to note also that we now have different formats of MultiStream signals, I wasn't aware.

Now that you concur with me, is it possible for the GTMEDiA Team to at least patch up a t2-MI MultiStream firmware for the v7HD PLUS h.265HEVc?

As for adding H.265 the hardware / firmware is not there in the older units to run the needed codecs.

GT Media has made some updates for multistream in newer units for the newer T2 formats, and as yet it has not opened the stream on Optus D1 for ABC.
