BUG : V8 Pro 2

Post by sickboy »

Menu/System/Other Setting/Power On Mode

When set to "Enter Standby Mode" the setting is persistent in that not only will it go to Standby from power interruption it goes to standby at every subsequent power up with remote.

I tested with the same setting on a V8 Super and there is no problem.

Yes, I've unplugged and replugged to no avail - the unit is effectively softbricked as it will not boot into application mode so the change cannot be undone in the menu.

What is the procedure for unbricking this unit ?

Try a flash.bin recovery.
That will do a factory reset as it reloads.

Flash recovery worked but I presume the bug is still present.

Will try the setting again to confirm it.

I don't think its the bug! Because I have this very unit and provided they were all manufactured in December, they would all have that common issue and yet mine doesn't have.

My advice. Update with the January update and see if your issue is solved.
By the way this Box is currently the best one can get.
