You can not watch two channels..
You can record one and watch another on the SAME TP (frequency), or record off Terrestrial and watch satellite.

If you have a USB stick in the unit and press record the unit will record the channel you are on.
Because the tuner in the unit is tuned to that frequency you can watch another channel on that same frequency, or one of the channels on the terrestrial tuner.
Yes it is tricky to change channel once the unit is recording.
The channel up down buttons are best, so you would need to have the other channel on the same channel list so you can move to them.
It is much easier to have a second receiver box.
