IPTV in V8 Super

Post by joaquin012 »

I would like to know if the freesat V8 Super can get a list of IPTV channels. I read that you can put several, but I do not see it for this deco.

This manual does not work for V8 Super.
I have a V8Super and the IPTV does work on mine. Here are my box's details:
V8Super S/w V4.7.129.735 20/06/2019
H/W V1.2.0 08/08/2015

Go to MENU > CHANNEL LIST > IPTV. (For the IPTV to be active you must have the internet connected and working on the box) In IPTV you will get three options, Xtream and Freesat do not work for me, CUSTOMER will allow you to play a list you can upload by USB (see below how to make and load the list) The list stays in memory so the only way to edit the list is to overwrite it.

The format for the list is:
name,url

so a listing taken from a M3u file, has to be edited like this (use http not hxxp)>>
#EXTINF:-1, tvg-name="Bloomberg_TV_US",Bloomberg_TV_US
hxxp://live-bloomberg-us-east.global.ssl.fastly.net/us/us3_live.m3u8

Bloomberg_TV_US,hxxp://live-bloomberg-us-east.global.ssl.fastly.net/us/us3_live.m3u8

Note; no spaces on any line, use underscore to separate words, the comma between name and URL is required.

When you have your list made, then save it as "iptvlist.txt" and copy it to the root of you USB memory. Plug it into the V8Super and you will be asked if you want to import the "customer.pg" ..select yes and then your list will appear in the "CUSTOMER" box.

I just gave you the format for one line, you can add as many lines as you want, you may find a program that will do all the editing automatically for you, but I have never searched for one. Good luck...

I only have the V8Super so I can not confirm 100%, but there is a good chance that this will work as well in the Golden. In the specs >> https://freesat.cc/v8-golden_p0012.html << it says it does support IPTV. If you have a Golden please give it a try. 8-)

Hello,
I have only two options on IPtv menu. Freesat and xtreme. I can't see CUSTOMER section on list. Is there a password to view and upload for custom m3u list?
Ps: My device is V8 super. And using latest firmware.

Read attached. Once you create your file and load the USB with file to box it will automatically ask to load in screen:

GTMedia v8 super and golden can be work with both http:// or https://

But GTMedia v8 Nova or Pro2 that work only http://

Not true... the list you sent me in a PM will never work as it is not an IPTV Playlist, it is a list of files that are on a dedicated server and you need to use their software to open those channels. I sent you a link to an IPTV Playlist that does work on the V8 Super and I can confirm it does work as I use it every day. I have even found a "CUSTOM" button on the remote control, so after you have loaded the playlist you can go straight to the list using that button. If yours doesn't work it must be a problem at your end.

Hi Juan_vale: The IPTV already solved it because or put the name of the channel well and that works well. Respect to the download of freesar, does not work always gives error, at least to me. Thank you
