Re: Short range of the remote control
On my remote i dont get that soo short signal but if i dont point at it straight too it i do notice it will not work i was thinking of getting a universal one and see if it will work better i will let u know
Re: Short range of the remote control
Same here on V8 Super. 1 to 1.5 meters is all I can get.
10 foot mesh dish, ASC1 positioner, V8 super
Re: Short range of the remote control
If you are pointing up to your unit it will be weaker, if it on up on a high shelf etc.
I took the cover off my V8 Pro2 and drilled a hole in the front cover where the sensor is.
I can point the remote at the wall behind me and it works now.
the cover is too dark for the remote signal on most of the new V8 stuff.

Re: Short range of the remote control
I agree, If I am pointing the remote upwards angle towards my V8 Nova Orange it often doesn't sense the Remotes Commands but if I am holding the remote slightly above the Receiver (pointing down at it) it does a lot better sensing the remote inputs.Feralkiwi wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 8:55 pmIf you are pointing up to your unit it will be weaker, if it on up on a high shelf etc.

Holding the remote at an even height or above the receiver is much better.

Re: Short range of the remote control
Would have too try that for sure but before i go drilling the hole i would try my universal remote and if it works i would let u know model of the remote that worked good with out the drilling
Re: Short range of the remote control
Just drilled a hole in my V8 Golden front cover. The remote is much more responsive a definite improvement! Thanks for the tip.Feralkiwi wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 8:55 pmIf you are pointing up to your unit it will be weaker, if it on up on a high shelf etc.

Re: Short range of the remote control
I use a harmony universal remote and it works 100% better than the original remote.
