All problems found by now on the GTMEDIA V8 UHD receiver

Gtmedia V8 UHD issues:

Microfreeze images in combo channels and on some satellite channels too

Sometimes remote control delay reaction

Subtitles center-middle position, they are not posicionated center down

The function epg doesn´t work in 95% channels (61w, 70w, 81w), in v7 plus works perfectly

When you remane (change the name) of a favourite list, then you can´t use it in sat>ip app in that category of favourite you make

When you play an usb video you can´t fast or rewand visually the image (you dont know in witch part of the movie you are)

Legend speed when you plug usb device "device speed too low to record"

Sometimes legend volume stays on screen and you must buttom exit to close

I hope you can fix most of these notorious issues in the upcoming firmware, thank you very much!

Microfreezing occurs in satellite in 97e gsat ku band satellite tp 11492 v 2600. Despite very strong signal the channel freezes for few seconds and again becomes normal and this process repeats after 10 seconds . It is really irritating. Please fix this bug in the next update.

Secondly satellite search mainly 5150 Freq and universal Freq 9750 10600 takes lot of time to complete search process. Earlier used to take less than 4 minutes for complete searching process now takes atleast 8mins. Eg: asiasat 5 100e cband, airtel 108e kuband, paksat 38e cband.
Hope to see this problem solved in the next update.

Ovi bhai.

I think there is an option in menus to turn off all massages.
You can still press exit to clear it.

Good afternoom. I have a V8x with the latest update V289_20210923 and I see that it has an error or detail, I have 3 satellites in my v8x, amazonas, star one and tupac katari, and all 3 show me the same intensity and quality, 95 intensity and 85 quality . I don't think this is normal.

Same on my 23 c-band sats from 133 to 81 west all c-band show 95/85. Ku band not getting any signal.
All this on my v8x
Plugged my v8uhd and got the normal strengths and ku works fine.
Some problem in the latest file.

Hi Tom...

Do you know when they will release another firmware that fixes what is still missing? With the last one, few things were solved, at least in my experience ... Many thanks

Another perceived problem, it happens to me with the satellite arsat2 (81w) the audio is ahead with the video. The solution is to change the channel and go back to the previous one and if it doesn't work I have to restart the receiver.

Hello

Try doing a factory reset. First do a backup or dump to your USB of all your settings/ channels. Re-install the latest bin file from V.519 (05/08/2021)
from here and re-install you DB backup

The EPG only fails one channel of each MUX, I thought it was only a problem with the Astra 19.2 satellite and I see what happens in all of them, and I would say that it is not 95% working but only works ⅓ of the EPG in the V8UHD, I refresh it with a USB connected and pressing the red key, until it is solved

When playing any video media or pvr file, there is a date and time overlay being displayed on the top right corner of the screen. (It shows up several seconds after playback stars). Please remove this annoyance.
Thanks.

Hello.
GTMEDIA V8 nova - problem when switching channels with the remote control. they always jump by 2 channels when the up arrow is pressed. when I press the button down it's ok 1 down?
what could be the reason?

The button on the remote could be worn and acts like it is pressed twice.
It could be that you move the remote as you press it and the set top box sees the IR signal, then not, then sees it again and thinks there were two presses of the button. Move the box by the TV so it faces the room better so it sees the remote more.

Depends how heavy you are with the arrows, i also have the same issue, been heavy handed some times.
You could just press the numbers you require for the channel, you can hold the remote between thumb and second index finger, using the fore finger to press the numbers.

These changes are requested for next firmware update. I use the V8x (11/2021 firmware) for searching out satellite feeds. I use a DiSeqc HH rotor to move the dish. I have tapped off the antenna input and fed it to a spectrum analyzer. As I traverse the dish, I can see the various sat footprints on the analyzer. Then I run a blind scan to find feeds. My issues start if I start a new search from scratch (Sat position is not set) and you already have a few satellites set up. Press MENU, Antenna Setup. Attached pic shows screen. First off, make the cursor start in the satellite list not the lnb control. Hitting the left arrow does not bring the cursor over, it just changes the LNB type, you have to press the EXIT button to move over to the satellite list. That wastes time to set things straight after that. The IMPORTANT feature/bug is when you scroll up/down the satellite list. As you pass over an entry, if Motor Setup is set to DiSEqc, the unit immediately moves the dish. NO! Do not send commands to dish until you select a satellite with Edit, OK, or Scan.

There are other areas of the setup where the unit has uncommanded moves of the dish. I will cover those in separate posts.

I also look for feeds but I don't use DiSeqc HH,I use a polarmount with separate positioner... I'm glad our new friend has a nice spectrum analyzer... but for me the V8X is fine, make any changes you want but please be careful not to make things worse!

The only thing that I find annoying is that when I do a blind scan on a satellite then I find the channels, the V8X returns to the list of all satellites channels and not to that of the single satellite where the blindscan was made.

regards

If the blind scan has found channel(s), when I exit, it takes me to the first newly found channel. But when you do a blind scan and find NO channels, and exit, the receiver moves the dish to the last used satellite and channel. NO, it should stay still at that point.

Re: GTMEDIA_V8 Series Bug Tracking System: Dish Network Bug

I think I just found a new bug/feature. I have the dish pointed at 129W and I am successfully tuned in to a transponder (image xxx_101109.jpg with the frequency of interest (FOI) highlighted). Now with the dish at 129W, almost all the signals to the right of the FOI are from the Dish Network Satellite. The blind search does NOT pick up any of the Dish Network transponders, it appears to stop at 12.2GHz. If I manually setup a transponder for the appropiate frequency and bitrate (12.297 GHZ/21500 kbps, pol same as first example, data obtained from Lyngsat for Ceil-2), I get nothing (image xxx_101228 again with the FOI highlighted). While I do not expect to view the channels, I should be able to tune in the TP. The Dish Network signal strengths are booming relative to the FTA signals. What's up with this? I like to use the Dish Network/DirevTV satellites as positional beacons.
