Re: V8UHD Rebooting during Blind Scan
I also had this yesterday.
If I set up a new satellite it would crash as it scanned the second TP that had channels. After the crash no channels were saved
A TP scan would load channels OK. Another TP scan of a different TP would crash.
I could delete the channels from the first TP and then scan the second TP OK.
One TP of channels only or a crash.
I fixed this by factory resetting and reloading an older user data file.
This suggests this is a corrupted user file while it was in the UHD.

Re: V8UHD Rebooting during Blind Scan
So how can I repair my user database without needing to completely rescan, rename, and delete unwanted channels?Feralkiwi wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 10:22 pmI also had this yesterday.

If you have not save a file then you may have to start from fresh.
It would be best If we find what is corrupted and fix that.
I have reported this to GT Media, I hope they find a fix.
For now the best way is to re scan and save your User data file every so often.

Re: V8UHD Rebooting during Blind Scan
I have a saved file, but I believe it is corrupted. After the issue first started, I went through my channel lists and edited everything with the editor in the V8UHD. So my current list is what I want. I just do not know what is corrupted. Is this something I can open and repair in Notepad or a similar app?Feralkiwi wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 9:28 pmI used an older user data file I had.betnar93 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 6:59 pmSo how can I repair my user database without needing to completely rescan, rename, and delete unwanted channels?Feralkiwi wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 10:22 pmI also had this yesterday.

As to repair, what would you look for.
I have use a HEX editor / comparator at times to find what "Bit" in the file does what to change things like more than 63 positions for a mover or less than 3 seconds for the on screen time out.

Re: V8UHD Rebooting during Blind Scan
Thank you. I will be glad to have this fixed. Seems like my receiver only will run one or two scans before the reboot issue returns after I reload a clean database file.cpr43 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 4:04 pmAlready added to the GTMEDIA_V8 Series Bug Tracking System

Re: V8UHD Rebooting during Blind Scan
Any news on a fix?? My receiver is now rebooting during blind scans after deleting my database and reloading a known good database file... this has really been a thorn in my side for finding feeds!

I have 2700 TV and 1090 Radio channels. Is this too many for the receiver?? Someone suggested deleting some channels and trying again.
I deleted 30 channels and tried another blind scan, but it reboots everytime around 10-15sec into the scan after it starts detecting channels.
whichever satellite i go to crashes in blind scans
and same problem all satellite....after 1-2 frequency.....
pls fixit!!!!
thanks
Re: V8UHD Rebooting during Blind Scan
Try scanning just the radio only or just the TV only.
You can also scan just the FTA or the PayTV channels.
You can also set the antenna setting to just V or H while you scan to limit the number of channel you get.
If you are using a universal LNB you can also set for 10600 and 22kHz ON and 9750 22kHz OFF and scan only the upper or lower band to stop the number of channels scanned in exceeding what the unit can store temporarily.
This issue has come up before, and most users solve it by not scanning the radio channels.
Some software fixes have been made for this.

Re: V8UHD Rebooting during Blind Scan
Thanks for your answer
I thought he was finding a channel of his own and it was leaking .... but I deleted all the channels ....to scan
I just tried to scan only fta...or radio ... but again the same boot.....
scans 2-3 frequencies on all satellites but again the same boot...

Re: V8UHD Rebooting during Blind Scan
Is the rebooting of your receiver just on one satellite, or all satellites that you try.
