Request a softcam.key for v8x
Hi, I'm a new user of v8x. I cannot export the softcam.key from my stb. Could anyone please send the latest file that is compatible with v8x to me? a softcam key for Asia region. Thanks
Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
try renaming the file to "softcam" not softcam.key that worked for me.
Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
Maybe there are no keys been put into the receiver, when you export your key info, you may just have keys of channels that have (auto rolled).
After checking on your computer in (note pad) to see what keys you may have / added yourself, you then amend the file to (softcam), then use the (red) button to (import) back into the receiver.

Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
Hi, I open the exported file on my computer. I see nothing but a "***xxxx***" in that file. I'm not family with how to put these softcam keys into that file. I just hope somebody sends me an amended file that I can directly use. Appreciate that.STRETCH wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 8:01 amMaybe there are no keys been put into the receiver, when you export your key info, you may just have keys of channels that have (auto rolled).

Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
If you let us know what satellites you are watching, we will be able to let you know if you require a softcam, most keys are built within the software of the receiver.

Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
All EMM keys are in the software updates, you must update the software, then put the receiver on the Powervu CH and let it stay on the CH untill it opens then go to the next CH and do the same thing, as for the softcam.key file, you will only see ECM keys because all EMM are are in the software and can not be extracted, the only EMM keys that can be extracted are the ones you add your self.
BTW, we don't give out any EMM keys at this site.
Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
Thanks for your response. I'm watching 108.2(namely, SES-7/9) and 132.0°E ku, as well as 138°E
Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
By the look of it, after checking (lyngsat)most of the channels are not supported via softcam.
Which are Conax / Wyplay / Videoguard / Xcrypt / Director / Powervu + / Mediacipher.
There may be other ways to decode the channels, which i do not how to, other members may be able to help.

Yes no extension worked for me. When I used the extension Import failed.

I think the Powervu on 138e has gone to Powervu+

Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
Hi, I have looked at your introduction of how to code the PowerVu. An excellent article. However, I have confused about the other part of KeyData. I saw that you specified "909DD8F17BCFA7;259030000:H ;" as an effective keyData. But, after looking at other softcam.key files, they are bases on using the format such as "BFC4EF57666AC9" as the keyData. I don't know what's the difference between them. I also want to know how to transform your format(likely Plaintext) to the latter.Feralkiwi wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 8:35 pmI wrote some instruction some time back on softcam.key and powervu code line format.xmh0511 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 5:57 amHi, I open the exported file on my computer. The data key changes for every channel, so they are all different.

Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
These lines from the softcam.key file are text.
The codes like "BF C4 EF 57 66 6A C9" and "90 9D D8 F1 7B CF A7" are HEX ( digital format for 16 bit) I added the spaces to show the hex pairs.
The set top box then uses these as computer code.
Yes the GT Media units use plain text for users to interface with.

Re: Request a softcam.key for v8x
We will need more information of the channel and TP to help.
Powervu or Biss as well.
A look at that satellite on lyngsat do com shows the encrypted channels are not powervu or BISS.
GT Media only decodes powervu and BISS.
For other encryption types you need a Ccam account or the payTV providers card.

In Feralkiwi's instruction, the final format is "P 0000 00 909DD8F17BCFA7;259030000:H ; " the part of keyData is "909DD8F17BCFA7;2590: 03980: 30000: H ", Instead, for ECM KEY, the part of keyData is a 14-bit encrypted text.
