Box GTmedia debugged for Belgium would be really great

Post by MD0321 »

Box GTmedia debugged for Belgium would be really great with a better remote control, a powerful EPG guide and recordings on hard disk without problem?

For developers and sales representatives of the GTmedia Team:

Hello,
The French-speaking part of Belgium finally has the possibility of watching television for free, without subscription with certain GTMedia boxes such as the V8 UHD, ready for 4K, for example, which I have just bought. The combination of TNT reception in DVB-T (in SD for the moment) for RTBF (transition to DVB-T2 in HD expected soon, in 2022) and reception of the Fransat bouquet DVB-S2X via multistream frequencies are a truly alternative. interesting without having to have a smartcard from any operator, just by buying a box from GTMedia compatible with DVB-S2X en DVB-T2.

Many users, in Belgium for the cable operator, VOO could be happy to have a V8 UHD box, perfectly functional as soon as the bugs are eliminated and with a correct EPG guide and a fully operational recording function which is not currently the case, with the V227 version and a better remote control would also be desirable.

Currently many users in Belgium are angry because of all these changes with the cable operator VOO in recent weeks:
1. The software of the official "EVASION" Box has been upgraded with mandatory loss of all recordings made with the previous version of the firmware. The EVASION box allows you to buy additional extractable hard drives and customers have also lost all the recordings made on all other external hard drives!
The new version of the VOOTV + software has a lot of bugs and even new recordings are sometimes lost or missed ...
2. The removal of seca-mediaguard encryption is problematic for users of astoncrypt CAMs from ASTON, used in televisions before 2011-2012, with a CI-only compatible interface without support for the CI + standard. Should they throw their televisions in the trash now?

So you understand that the customers from VOO in Belgium are so angry that they plan to change operator for televisions and internet!

There is a potential market in Belgium for an alternative box like your GTmedia boxes
In conclusion, if you make a correct and debugged software you will be able to sell a lot more GTMedia boxes in Belgium!

Thank you.
