Can't connect to AV cable

My new GT Media V8X decoder is not working with AV cable, only HDMI works. Is there a particular type of AV cable I should buy and use for it?

It takes a 17 / 18mm long minijack cable:

You can also use a scart to rca adapter.

Now I'm having picture on AV when I connect the red cable to video instead of yellow. But no sound. Seems there is a special AV cable that works for GT media v8x? The ones I have only bring picture when I use red but still no sound only HDMI out is working perfectly. I bought a scart to AV converter and that didn't work at all.

This is because you need a longer plug on the 3.5mm connection, 18mm long not the shorter 15mm.

I just went on AliExpress now and saw a 17mm, I have made the order. I hope it works?

Try to get audio from one of the other two plugs with your short pin cable. It will be only one side of stereo, but may help while you wait. Move the plug in and out a little as you try.

I got the 3.5mm AV cable with 17mm plug from AliExpress today and it works perfectly with the v8x decoder. I'm grateful for the support I have received here. I now have sound and picture through AV out. Thanks guys
