I have a USB TTL cable too, the single three connectors, each one for one pin (RX/TX/GND), don't fit into JST male connector, they are too big, only two you can insert!
I advise against this solution.
I advise to get a JST PH 2.0 connector and soldering this one to RS232 connector.

This one with JST connector is perfect!
You must verify only the connection scheme, if it is correct.

If the scheme is correct this cable is ideal for V8UHD and V9 Prime too.



JST <--------------------> DB9
Red --> TX ---- RX <--- PIN 2
Black --> RX ---- TX <--- PIN 3
Green --> GND ---- GND <--- PIN 5
