Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and with these topics

1) I am trying to update the freesat v8 finder, but no file that I download is useful.

I connect the usb memory with the .bin files and the device does not show any files.

I do not know what may be happening.

2) I am looking for a list of satellites for South America and I can not find anywhere.

The USB must be FAT32 for freesat.
If the USB is seen by the Freesat unit the USB upgrade menu will light.

How do we identify whether the usb is fat32?? And what does mean by Fat32??

Fat32 is the type of format of the usb drive. when you plugin the usb to your computer right click on the usb icon it should have a drop down menu select format . now you can reformat your usb drive make sure fat32 is selected for format type.

You can download the North America Satlist It also has the southern satellites . Just Delete the ones you don't want.

Thank you very much for your answers, but what happens is:

The usb memory is recognized by the device, what happens is that I do not work any file that I downloaded.

The usb memory works because I have done backup of the device and when I insert the usb memory with the backup it immediately tells me that there are update files.

But when I insert the usb memory with the files that I downloaded from the gtmedia page, it does not recognize any of them.

You must use the Unpacked file, the .bin file.

Use Winzip or the "Extract all" option when you right click the .zip file.

that's how I do it, I just copy the .bin file and it does not work, I downloaded several and none

Check that you have a genuine Freesat Finder.

What message displays , when you try to do software update?
Force update may be solve your problem.Rename sw. to flash.bin , power off the unit , plug in usb and keep pressed menu and power on the unit.Release menu button , when displays" sw. upgrade... ".Be patient , and wait to reboot the satfinder.Whole process last about 5 minutes.

salve anche io ho lo stesso problema,e impossibile aggiornarlo.

Good thing my original came, it's the V71HD, great tool.

I only wait when possible if its multimedia functions can be reactivated at the next att. and the implementation of a signal quality demonstration screen with large numbers according to another topic that I made the suggestion to the Software Engineers of super GtMedia.
