Device with CI slot

Post by seba »

Hi GTMedia,

I bought recently V8 Turbo primarily because of DVB-T2 but I was wondering also if it would work with my Cable provider, which uses Conax for DVB-C. They give me CAM and card so I was hoping I could use just the card, it turns out that it doesn't work, I guess CAM and card are paired.

My question is have you considered creating device that would have slot which would accept CAM?

Reason I ask is because I also have TBS 5881 which has CI slot that accepts CAM and I'm able to watch encrypted channels with this receiver.

I know v8turbo doesn't support CI. I was asking are you considering making new model that would have CI slot, like TBS 5881 usb tuner has.

Here is the card info.

We are investigating solutions to support CI.
In your market, what products currently support CI or CI+? How many users are there?

Sorry I don't know the numbers. What I can tell you is that our Cable provider offers either set top boxes or CI cards.
