Someone is asking for monthly payment for your services

Post by Adj »

Hi everyone,

My grandparents got this guy who ask them for monthly payment after them paying him 150€ for instalments. They been paying him 15/month, but I suspect that they actually don't need to. Could this man potentially cut their GTMEDIA service if they refuse to pay? As I said earlier they paid for the instalments and device.

Thank you very much, I'm new to this kind of service :)

How do they receive their channels, cccam / satellite.
Did this guy install the satellite dish and supply the GTMedia receiver.

They have both a satellite and Internet connection, but a lot of channels won't work without Internet.

What channels do not work, if someone is paying for some services, that is not been delivered, should get the service back in order.

Should they even be paying monthly for GTMEDIA?

Thanks

There are two types of end users:

Type#1.- DIY, can do all that is needed to set up his box and put in any keys that are required. Does most of his own
installation

Type#2.- Doesn't have a clue, is not computer savvy, doesn't know what's a transponder, lnb or a channel list is and has to rely on someone to program and maintain his box, all Type#2 wants to do is watch TV.

It seems your family is Type#2 and where I live there are a lot of guys that provide all of this service... obviously at a cost. In Europe you can buy a Cccam for 10 Dollars and it works for a year, maybe that is why the providers are now fighting back. In the Americas it is more common to be on a monthly basis and the "Dealer" will provide a channel list to his customers, pay the monthly fee for the service, as well as resolving problems that arise.

If you are Type#1 then you could help your family by taking on the job, run over every time a channel changes transponder or there is a problem with the internet. Otherwise they seem happy with what they have and it is just you that is upset.

Thanks for you answer.

I'm type 1 but I don't live with them, ps in a different country... we are.from euro but they still pay 15€ per month for this service, which is fairly expensive...

Thank you again

They also wanted to charge me a monthly fee when buying a decoder, but I refused everything and yes, everything can work without paying specialists, but you need to understand the channel setup well (or ask someone you know to do it)
