How to run OSCam in the background?

Post by zapple »

Hello.
I am testing the GTC as a server of a V8pro2 as a client.
Everything is working fine but the problem is that when I leave the GTC on standby mode, the GTC's oscam server is disconnected, and of course, since then, the v8Pro2 can not decrypt channels.
Is there any way for the oscam GTC server to remain active in the background even if the GTC is in standby mode?
thank you ;)

I don't think any apps will run on standby in the background on stock firmware. You need to leave it on if you want to keep using oscam.

Hello Spieth
First of all I must clarify I am a newbie with this receiver.
Until the moment I read this post: https://www.freesat.cn/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=11909, I didn't know that when you put a cccam line in the GTC , it is really being managed through oscam. Based on this information, now you can draw your own conclusions.

If you want to reshare your line, You first need to open a port on your router then go to "Config" and click either "CCcam" or "Newcamd" if using newcamd just use the default des key "01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14" then all you need to do is enter the port number that you forwarded and click save. Next go to "Users" and near the top click "Add User" enter a username and click "Add" in the top box enter a password and uncheck "Disabled" then scroll down the page and click "Save" the default settings should work ok. Click "Live log" then on your other box add the line as normal like any other and go to a scrambled channel and see if it works. If it's not working check the "Live Log" for any errors.

Another question. What would be the IP direction in the CCCam line? Thanks

You would use the Lan IP of the box that is resharing your main line.

If the GTC and the decoder are on the same network, you just need to use the IP adress of the GTC.

Kodi does. It keeps playing music via the sp/dif when on standby. And I can control it via yatse (remote control), therefore network also works. I use the ethernet port not WiFi, haven't tried the latter.

Works for the pre-installed online TV (Kodi 17) and wbmc (Kodi 18.1 clone).

I tried YouTube, that'll stop playing.

And I tried the oscam webif, first time couldn't connect ant the gtc booted instead of resuming from standby. Second time, after fresh reboot and immediate standby I could reload the webif page.

Hi.
It would be great to have the possibility to choose which applications can continue to run even when the receiver is in standby mode... for example oscam and ddns updater.
thanks.

Sorry, this feature is not available on current models. When the GTC is in standby, the entire system will enter a low-power mode, and the entire Android (including oscam) system will go to sleep.
