A confusion about the built-in Powervu on GTcombo

Post by xmh0511 »

After exporting the "Softcam.key" file from my GTcombo by obeying the instruction of <<How to add an OSCAM (Power Vu BISS)account to your GT serial box(V1.2)>>. When I check the content of "Softcam.key", I find a question. According to the instruction of how to add the Powervu to the text file, the instruction says that:

Code: Select all

P 0006004B 00 113754C6C0CEE1 ;Sony Ten 1 HD (105.5° °E)
Introduction
P: PowerVU
0006: Satellite number(4bit, Decimal)
004B: Service ID(4bit, Hexadecimal)
00: This is an odd key;when 01: This is an even key
113754C6C0CEE1: Key(Hexadecimal)
;Sony Ten 1 HD (105.5°E): Comments (must a SPACE before ‘;’)
That means the first 4-bit number of the second column numbers shall be the Satellite number. However, when I look at the built-in "Softcam.key". For instance, where one powervu code in the file is like this:

P 00030015 00 113754C6C0CEE1 ;Sony Wah (105.5ҧE)

That means the code specifies that it's valid for the channel whose service id is "0015" on the satellite whose Satellite number is 003. In other words, If the number of the corresponding satellite is not 003, the powervu won't work for the channel, Isn't it? Furthermore, Does that mean the whole Powervu keys recored in the file will not work if their satellite numbers are not the same as that on my GTcombo? How to interpret this issue? Appreciate for explaining it.

Hi @xmh0511, the guide you follow apply for GTC and first firmware provided for GTcombo.

After last update on GTcombo I notived that PowerVu keys format changed.

Now you only have to provide 00 and 01 keys for group 00000000 , like this:

P 00000000 00 A22FA7F79C9501 ;
P 00000000 01 DE63129C4B50A0 ;

Give it a try!
regards, Johan

Thank for your clarifiction. However, the firmware of my GTcombo is the latest. I extract the "Softcam.key" is based on it. The powervu instance is a actual example from that file. Does it still mean the powervu keys in that file are all invalid when the satellite numbers are not the same as the actual numbers in my GTcombo?

I have used the old GTC softcam system of keys grouped and still worked fine. But the GTCombo will have the PowerVu AU EMM keys hidden embeded in firmware. Softcam will show new founded keys at the end of the list (Can be see on Box or Oscam FTP) Menu, Installation, 6666, CS Protocol, Softcam Setting) . AutoBiss option will show new keys as well (Can only be see on Oscam via FTP) Biss channels will look for keys in the Auto Biss via internet. So, no need to add or edit keys on the Softcam for now. If any channel does not work then you can request the channel to be revised and keys added to new firmware versions.

Please note that the Sony channels on 105.5e went to powervu+ some time back and do not open.

It is that the EMM embed in the firmware of GTcombo will calculate the newest Powervu Key and recorded in the list of Softcam Setting in CS protocol item, Right? BTW, how to see this list on the GTcombo via FTP?

Will our team prepare to support to decrypt these channels encrypted by Powervu+?

There has been no hack for powervu+ anywhere, so no.

This is the correct conclusion.
I changed the Powervu and Biss Keys format of GTcombo to the same format of V8X for better AutoRoll. :D

I'm also a user of v8x. In my mind, it seems that set it to "00000000" will be unified apply to all channels.
