Partition delete or not while updating by usb

Hello.
Last week I made updates on my GT combo STB. While updating it shows pop up window erase data partition &
erase media partition.
I made it without deleting it. Is it necessary to delete both?
If not what happened?
Make it clear, please!

I wish people would post in the correct section, for there receiver.
For the (GTMedia Combo), post in the (GTMEDIA GT SERIES (Android DVB & IPTV Box).
You will then get more replies.

I will answer if noone cares and keeps ignoring your question. If you choose to erase media then all your pictures ,local videos and downloads will be deleted during the instalation . If choosed to erase data then all your satelite channels list and oscam server and your installed apps will be deleted and after the intsalation completes you will have clean as from factory device
