Make sure you boot the program from the folder with all the other files.

Some PC's need a windows package added. "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package"

Also you will need the RS232 cable connected to the unit.

There is a similar connection on the GTC labeled key.

Another Method without HardReset Button.
Copy recovery.img to usb disk and insert it in Usb backside Port. Power on your any GTMEDIA GT SERIES box with the remote control PowerOn Red Buttton-While Loading Logo -Keep Pressing immediately Menu Button on Remote Control for 2-3 times. The box will upload your recovery

Hi

Your pic is now rotated 90 right to look like the one I posted and has red around the reset button location.
The yellow is showing where the active track for reset is.
To make a reset, connect a switch between the two solder contact with the "Track in yellow" (labeled "Key" on the board) and the other two solder contacts.
Or connect one of these two solder connections to one of the other two solder connections or to the ground outer connection of the LNB connection.

Some use a paper clip to momentarily make this contact.
There are also others that use metal tweezers.

When you are on the screen that is all in Chinese you click on the Menu Button on your Remote Control and you will get or play a video, now on that screen of the video click, press on the Home button (the one with house symbol) and you will enter into the normal Menu. If you do not see the Main Menu, repeat the Menu and Home steps again. Already in the main menu you can try doing a Factory Reset (twice) or upload by USB local the firmware.
