Here is an update on the GTX combo SSD Hard drives, today tried 3 different new SSD 1TD drives, all of them did the same thing GTX would see them
and format them, but each time would say "Unsupported" but all three of the SSD 1TD drives would work if you used a SSD to USB adapter and connected to the USB on the side of the unit.


That meaning said THIS IS A FIRMWARE PROBLEM please fix it......

Today I tested with my SSD 2Tb.
It uses 5v.
The slot for SSD has only 5v.
Power to the sub board for the TV Card and SSD has 12v to it and 5 volt regulators on board.

I added an extra 12v feed in addition to the small ribbon 12V feed.
No change, still boots to black screen and with exits / OK buttons pressed returns to android menu with no SSD in the file browser.

Test Two today:
I partitioned my SSD into four parts so each was under 1TB.
Failed as above.

One test left to do.
Cut the 5V supply to the SSD and use an external supply.

I am beginning to think the issue is the system can not cope with the drive size, 2Tb.
I wish there was the option to turn off "Auto Play" on the GTX as there is with the GT Combo.

It's NOT A POWER ISSUSE it is a firmware Issue... do this get a SSD to USB adaptor and plug your drive into your GTX box and it will work fine.
That USB slot on the side of the box is using the same amount of volts as the SSD slot inside the box,,

Sadly the USB socket failed with the first tests of the SSD when all USB ports went down with the SSD.
That is why I thought it was hardware 5V.
The USB port still has 5v.
I now only have the USB 3 port and that gets used by the mouse dongle.

There is what looks like a USB mother board connection on the main board that has 3.7v on it.
No pins, but is the normal board layout for USB.
The same port on the GT Combo is use by the wifi, so was not for use.
I would think the same with the GTX Combo.

Yes I know that, But as I said the USB port is dead and I now only have the USB 3 port.
With a mouse needed first, there is no USB port for memory.

Looks like my option is to use a smaller HARD drive, not a SSD.

You keep saying that is doesn't have Enough Volts That has nothing to do with the problem.. it is the connection that why your other drive works... IT HAS NOTHING TO WITH VOLTS. They sold us a unit with junk Hard Drive to motherboard controller.

I got mine to work temporarily by pushing my SSD hard drive in as hard as I could and putting something between the hard drive and the unit..
I reboot it saw the drive with no problem.. But it didn't last meaning it is a controller problem

Yes it could be either.

That I tested a smaller SSD 250Mb and that also would not work does suggest hardware.
That smaller older SSD was spec'd at 5V 2A.

The only drive that works is a hard drive that needs 5V 0.5A.

There is one more test to do, but means cutting the 5V feed on the board, or soldering into the SSD and plastic isolation of the power feed from the GTX.

There are two DiSEqC options 1.0 and 1.1
A 1.0 switch will not action a 1.1 command.
A 1.1 switch will not action a 1.0 command.

1.0 is used with 4 port switches.
1.1 is used with 8 port switches.

Set the DiSEqC options to ports like 1, 2, 3 or 4 and see if you change satellite.
