image problem

Post by tobiasz77 »

I noticed a strange case with my super v9, namely problems with setting the LNB frequency. When set to standard, i.e. 9750-10600, the image for HBO 2 and HBO 3 stutters, normal HBO works fine. But when I change the frequency to 9750-10700 HBO does not work, while HBO 2 and HBO 3 work fine.

have any ideas ?

Universal LNB's have two parts, a low band and a high band.

The frequency 9750/10600 is the TWO low frequencies for those two parts, just like a single LNB has a low Frequency of 10750 or 11300.
The high band is used with the "22kHz" "ON". You could use a setting for just the high band, if there are no signals needed on the lower band, by setting LNB frequency to 10600 and 22kHz "ON".
When you change to 10700 the preset frequencies on your TP List do not work as the set top box makes the calculation for an incorrect low frequency.

Stay with the 9750/10600

Your LNB may be a little off frequency, If you are finding those channels by using "Auto" scan, this may result in the flickering.
Do a "Blind" scan. This will set the frequencies in the TP list to match your LNB.

I have found some info that says HBO 2HD is on 10834 MHz. The same for HBO 3.
This is the lower band of the two parts of the universal LNB.
The lower "Low Frequency" is 9750 so when you change the LNB setting in the Freesat box you will still get this channel, but not any channel on the upper band.

As these channels are HD try changing the AV settings in the V9.
You can change the output resolution and PAL or NTSC.

I find if your signal strength is weak, HD channels will have issues.
