1) Symptom:
When I turned on the IFIRE box, the logo appeared, then it gave a black screen and "no connection", the system did not start.
2) I did what they say on the Forum, except for the MENU key (and it worked):
- PEN, less than 4GB
- FAT32 formatting
- I put at the root of the PEN, the last firmware (27/04/2021 that I found in this topic viewtopic.php?f=69&t=12085)
- renamed the file "GTMedia_iFire_Release_V518_20210427.bin" to "flash.bin"
- I turned on the box
- I clicked as many buttons at the same time (so I don't know which button is for sure) but with the MENU button IT DOESN'T WORK
- the message appeared "USB upgrade! Do not power off!"
- and got it
3) Conclusion:
- In the IFIRE model, the MENU button is not the button to force update.
- if anyone knows which button, please let us all know.
Hope this helps.

Re: IFIRE - turn on with black screen (resolved)
hello
the force upgrade key should be MENU key.
if in your case ,the menu key does not work, please show me the remote control.
i will check it.

Yes it may be the different remote you are using.
The V7 models would not USB flash.bin recover if you used a GT Media V8 remote.
