GT Media V8 Finder 2

Hey guys,
Has anyone here purchased the recent sat finder 'GTMedia V8 Finder 2', I was impressed to know that it's charging port is a USB type C port rather than the usual round DC port. I would like to know if it also has an active tuner? By active tuner, I mean does the LNB power fluctuate when tracking or is it just fixed till you nail the bird?

Yes, I confirm that an USB type C port is present for recharging the device.
I don't understand well the meaning of the second question: do you mean when the motor is moving? If so, yes, the lnb poer is always on.

My unit is due in a few days and I can look then.

Do you mean does it offer an option for motor move speed?

A notice: for having Wi-Fi working, it's mandatory to have an USB dongle compatible with the Finder's hardware. I tested with a dongle with Ralink 5370 chip and it works.

There are forced recovery instructions here.

I do not know if you use the "GTMEDIA_V8Finder-METER How to USB forced upgrade 2019.0801.zip" or the "(V7 V8) How to USB forced upgrade 2020.12.21.zip" as my Finder 2 has not yet arrived.

Owen

Edited: fixed link

Can you enter 55000 into the TP menu?

Mine scanned in the TP off Optus D1 of 49000 ok.
Will check mine soon.

Owen

Edited:
The biggest I can enter is 53000.
Can you scan in higher or is that the problem?

The software is the same as the V8 Turbo / Pro2 etc, so is well tested / running and will likely do the same as those units.

As I said I do not know what method of the two I posted will work with the Finder 2 as that information has not yet been posted by GT Media.

I suggest you try the Finder-meter method with the file from the Finder 2 software.

Change log:
1.Update BISS channel playback
Lining, why is it possible to create a "Preset Database" and "XML DATABASE" mode in the receiver in the USB Update and USB Backup mode, but not in the satfinder? Thanks.

As all the satellites are in the sat list when you start with the unit. exporting the user DB should include all the sats and their TP's

Maybe just make one change to one satellite so the unit thinks there is user data and then export.

Feralkiwi, If you reset to factory settings, then all the changes my changes on the satellites fly off. They remain the same as in the software. And when you save "Preset DB", the settings are saved in the software. And the settings do not change.
