Re: GTMedia V8 Finder Pro 2 Issue
When charging these units with "C type" USB they communicate with the charger unit and ask for the voltage they require.
If you charge the Finder 2 on 5v normal USB, the charging acts differently.
If you charge on a USB type C it will use 9V and show different LED's for the charging.

Re: GTMedia V8 Finder Pro 2 Issue
I see an issue. You have the unit powered on while charging.
Try it with the power off.

Re: GTMedia V8 Finder Pro 2 Issue
It's seems ( Sale it and forget the SUPPORT ) !!!
Re: GTMedia V8 Finder Pro 2 Issue
If you check the values with an Intermediate Frequency Simulator (5 - 3000 MHz) you will get out of doubt
Re: GTMedia V8 Finder Pro 2 Issue
It is not to laugh, if you are an tecnic installer you have to have an FI simulator and you will check that the data is correct
Re: GTMedia V8 Finder Pro 2 Issue
Sadly like many I have been taken in by the hype and specification promises of the V8 finder pro. I agree with the many reports on bugs and particularly the vague, erroneous / totally inaccurate signal strength readings. Even the built in compass on mine doesn’t work properly (another minor point). Frankly your better using the built in Signal meters on satellite receiver or for freeview the TV’s built in signal strength meter to fine tune as the dish / aerial as readings on the V8 finder Pro are woefully inaccurate.
The annoying thing is the failings of the meter have been highlighted time and time again with a response being we will look into it …… but there is no fix or update to resolve many many months on.
This is not an instrument / meter that can be used to accurately set up a dish or aerial for maximum signal. It is of limited help to confirm you are “roughly aligned” to then fine tune using other means. In truth my cheap in-line sat finder works as well if not better.
