GTmedia V8 finder Pro and DiSEqC 1.1

Has anyone managed to set this "V8 finder Pro" for 8 satellites via DiSEqC protocol 1.1??? It's probably an impossible mission too.

I use mine on my 1.1 / 1.0 20 dish set up OK.
The only issue I have had is with the multi switch inputs.
They don't take enough current to make the 13/18v power supply work correctly.
I add a tone finder or splitter in the cable to fix that.
I have a 16x16 switch. One unit, my GT Combo, has a DiSEqC 1.1 before the 16x16 to access the other dishes as well.

I will check again and report back as it has been a while since I use the pro on the big network.

Hi

I run my Finder Pro on my dish network.

I found this:

1:
Many satellites / channels on H polarity would not use H. The Finder was outputting V polarity, 13v not 18v.
I had a tone type finder in the cable that showed this.
Making changes in the antenna settings menu did not change this.
"ADD" a new satellite and yes it would output 18v for H polarity.
I did a factory reset and set up the satellite again and all worked correctly.
I think this is an issue with loading in a channel list.
Tested with 18 Jan 2022 software. V307
Tested through a 1.1 8 port switch to my 16x16 (DiSEqC 1.0) switch and to other 4 port DiSEqC 1.0 switches.
Note: I had a tone type finder and a splitter in cable before the 1.1 switch. This will add impedance to the circuit and stop any LNB over current power surge trip outs.

2:
Setting LNB power to "OFF" in the menu does not turn off the power.
In the off setting H polarity is set, 18v.
This means that H polarity channels from the last satellite used are still seen. The last used DiSEqC switch position is left set. Unplugging the LNB cable will revert the DiSEqC 1.1 / 1.0 switches to port One / One.
Has anyone managed to set this "V8 finder Pro" for 8 satellites via DiSEqC protocol 1.1??? It's probably an impossible mission too.
Check that you have LNB power set to "ON".
If you loaded a channel list, try setting up a new (ADD) satellite and test with that.

I don't think we understood each other. I asked how to adjust 8 LNBs via DiSEqC 1.1? So in the settings there is DiSEqC 1.0 and 1.1. In DiSEqC 1.0 there are 4 selections and that's OK. Port 1,2,3,4. But how to adjust 5-16 LNBs? It should via DiSEqC 1.1. But in the settings it is: 1CasM1: Port1,2,3,4; CasM2: Port1,2,3,4; CasM3: Port1,2,3,4, and 2Cas: Port1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16. Do you now understand what I'm interested in? Settings for 8 LNBs.

Hi

I use the setting that offers port 1 to 16 and have no issues.

Just set up each satellite on the list and set the port number you have connected that dish to.
DiSEqC 1.1 1-16 is not like USALS motor, you need a dish for each satellite on a port number each.

I know all that very well. But apparently something is not working right. Yes, it should work on the DiSEqC 1.1 Port 1-16 option, but it doesn't switch. I will see again. The DiSEqC switch works safely, because everything works on my SAT receiver with 8 LNBs. I will try to install older firmware versions.

As per one of my posts, did you check that you did not have LNB power set to "OFF"?

Have you tested the finder with a tone type finder or a splitter in the LNB cable at the finder end to check it is not over current protection tripping and resetting the switch to port one? This adds impedance to the circuit and stops current spikes.

Everything is fine with the voltages on the LNB. With DiSEqC 1.0, it switches the first 4 LNBs without problems. The problem is DiSEqC 1.1. It does not switch to any LNB.

Please can you tell me the brand and part number of the 8 port switch you are using?

Also can you tell me if you loaded a user channel list into your finder?

Your problem sounds like the switch is DiSEqC 1.0 format with 4 ports, or the finder is sending only 1.0 4 port commands in error.

If you can, try a factory reset. Remember that your channel list will be lost and any codes as well.
After reset set up the satellites you need and then try the switches again.

I had my unit do funny thing after I had loaded a channel list.

Yes, at the beginning I reset the device to factory settings. Installed all firmware versions and will not switch satellites in DiSEqC 1.1 option. Otherwise, the DiSEqC switch is EMP Centauri P.168.W.V2. Switches DiSEqC 1.0+1.1 or just 1.1.

Hi

IU see that model switch ahs option switches for changing 1.0 to 1.1 or both or 1.2
I assume you have it set to 1.1 only?

If you have it in 1.0+1.1 mode, That may be the issue.
Try it in 1.1 only mode.

Try this then.

Set up a new (ADD) satellite on the satellite list and then set the DiSEqC as you need.

I found that thing did not work correctly after I had loaded a user data file.
