Hello Mods, Good Day. I tried to download the X8 release V285, to my X8 Combo.Box but my box would not allow the firmware to download, when I click on start it flashes once for a split second, and then nothing.I did every thing I know about downloading files, but I cannot get it going.Do you have any advice for me, Please let me know. I love this Box X8 Combo, it is small and Cute.

I assume the X8 units need the .zip folder unpacked and use the .bin file for the upgrade.

krishna narine,when the official software for GTmedia X8 Combo is released, then update it. I think it will be no worse than GTmedia X8 release V285. You will only be able to update "GTmedia_X8_db".

PS Уважаемый, для чего это Вам этот "танец с бубном"? Чем Вас не устраивает V283_20210902? Потом Вы будите "бегать" по форуму и жаловаться, что GTmedia X8 Combo превратился в "кирпич". Если Вам очень хочется проверить данный софт, купите GTMedia X8.

krishna narine,I made a presetdb, you can try to update the satellite database (Europe). Tweaked the transponders.

By default, when resetting to factory settings, the database will remain with the presetdb file.
PS Tested on GTMEDIA X8, GTMEDIA X8 Combo and GTMEDIA V8 Turbo.

Good day Mod.Thanks for the DB preset file, I put this file on and it loaded, then I tried to load the V285 file the box do not see the file on the flash drive, I will wait for the new file to come out, the internet connection info did not change.
I want the internet connection to read NewCamd, where I can put in provider subs info like, Server URL,username, password,server port, and server keys.

Thank you, Thank you that is nice I love it. now the next best thing is to have a complete satellite list, then the job is done.
With this fix set up lots of boxes will be sold. You guys are the best.

Good day Kladovchk, I have tried to download file V 286, but by box has a mind of its own,I opened the Rar file and put it on my flash drive
and tried to download it onto the box, the file would not show up on the TV in all the modes. So I guess the file has to be renamed a DB file.

After you have extracted the file from the (rar) file, you then get a (folder) double click this, you should then get the (bin.) file to upgrade to your receiver.

Have you got LCN on?
Local Channel Numbers will give you channel numbers starting with 2000.

LCN is in the DVB-T on combo units.

krishna narine, I have all the channels in registered on the satellite and in the figure. Show me what's on your screen?

As for my channel thumb nail picture, I cannot put it on the web if I do I would be looking for trouble.
however the thumb nail you have for Astra 4A/SES-5 satellite, if you take away the alphabetical names from the channels,
what you are left with is the channel numbers, well that is what I have when I scan the satellite and download the
channels.

I think I know what you mean.

If the signal is weak, the unit will scan just the channel info only and not the name.
This will then label the channel with the SID (service ID).
You get Ch1975 and Ch1976 etc where the name should be.

Is this what is happening?
If so then you need to improve your dish alignment etc to improve the signal, or scan in at a time of day when the signal is stronger.

The picture of the DVB-T shows that the numbers are sent as part of the channel name.
