Remote control delay

I'm having an issue with my GTMedia X8 where the remote control becomes slow and unresponsive after the box has been running for a while. Sometimes there's a delay of 1–2 seconds between pressing a button and seeing the action on screen. Other times, some buttons stop responding until I restart the device.
Has anyone else experienced this remote delay problem on the X8?
