Saw that from Ig-Man, very helpful observations on SATA v USB, thank you
.
Time Shift/Pause/Play: I put both Time Shift and Record on the external USB, although Time Shift does not engage reliably every time and causes some interference with sound occasionally.
Launcher 1 and 2: I realize bugs may be different under each of the two launchers. I switched to the original and am going to stick with this for a while and see what works and what doesn't.
Launcher 1: Bluetooth still plays up and is unreliable. With Launcher 1, I disabled DTS and it seems to have improved but not reliable.
Launcher 2: The DVB app kept terminating every few minutes. I think something to do with a setting on IP audio calling a server that was not specified.
Picture and sound: On the positive side, the picture quality is excellent and sound seems good too.
Adding Favorite Channels: One question I have is re adding favorite channels. I yet have to figure this out. There is a function for favorite apps but that is not as useful for me as favorite channels. Frankly, most of these apps are useless for me as in the US we watch Netflix, Prime, Disney etc on an Apple TV or an Amazon Fire Stick or a powerful Nvidia Shield device.
Sat Box focus: GT Media needs to get the basic satellite functions of the DVB app and SatToIP to be solid, and maybe also add the right frequencies and demodulation code to the ensure the ATSC works for FTA broadcasts here. Everything else is icing on the cake.
