27.5W INTELSAT 907 (SATBACK CHANNELS)

Post by STRETCH »

I have put this info, in reply to a V7 question about the (satback channels). Seeing as I have got it to WORK with a V8 NOVA ORANGE.
I found a BISS channel on 3e with similar specs, using the (loop-through) of another receiver I scanned in the transponders12702h 13960 and 12720h 13960 to my V8 NOVA ORANGE against 27.5w.
I then did a (back-up) of the (system data and channels) then using the db editor I amended the info as follows.
Using BBC ONE HD. 11495v 44100.
(1)v_pid = 6601 / (2)a_pid = 6602 / (3)a_type 1 = AAC / (4)a_pid 2 = 1 / (5)a_type 2 = AAC / (6) p_pid = 6601 (7)tv flag = 1 / (8)is_scramble = 1 / (9)sid = 17540 / (10)ecm = 1.
I then put the info back into the receiver, then with your dish pointing at 27.5w and on the new channel (it should say (Encrypted Program) then go the keys section to add a line in the BISS KEYS, against the said channel, when you add a line(transponder details are shown) SERVID (HEX) details comes up, add the keys and remember to SAVE, EXIT, then save again, this should bring you back to your channel.
It will still say (Encrypted Program) at this point (power off) the receiver with the (remote) wait a few seconds (power up the receiver) the channel WILL CLEAR WITH SOUND. / Do this to each of the HD channels when you add them.
How that you have all the HD channels in your receiver, now comes the next problem, when you CHANGE CHANNEL, you will get (Encrypted Program) to decode the channel you will have to (power off) then (power up) the channel WILL CLEAR.

After a few hours, I down loaded the system details again, (after been off/on quite a few times) I found a few changes.
a_pid 2 = 0 / and the a_type 2 = PCM

I HOPE THIS WORK ROUND HELPS OTHERS.

The SD channels DO NOT WORK, I can only get SOUND.

Have read on other forums that the (SATBACK CHANNELS) have moved to INTELSAT 901 still at 27.5w.
It is reported that signal and quality is up so could get away with a small dish.

A update on the said subject, with having time on my hands (been in lock down), have been playing with my V8 NOVA ORANGE,
HAVE GOT THE ( SD CHANNELS ) TO WORK.
Found a BISS channel on 30w 10770h 30000 DVB-S2/8PSK MPEG2/4 with similar spec to 11495v 44100 27.5w.
Using the loop-through of another receiver I scanned in the above transponder to my V8 NOVA ORANGE against 27.5w.
Then did a (BACK-UP) of the (SYSTEM DATA AND CHANNELS ) when using the (db editor) I found that some of the channels had a (ECM) of (3).
I then deleted ALL CHANNELS apart from one which had a (ECM) of (3), then set about putting in the correct info.
Using BBC ONE (SD) as a example,
(1)v_pid = 101 / (2)a_pid = 102 / (3)a_type 1 = mp2 / (4)a_pid = 103 / (5)a_type 2 = mp2 / (6)p_pid = 101 / (7)tv flag = 1 / (8)is_scramble = 1
(9)sid = 4164 / (10)ecm = 3.
Then copy to transponder 11495v 44100.
You then go through this again with the rest of the SD channels,
BBC 2 / CBEEBIES / BBC FOUR / BBC NEWS / CBBC / BBC PARLIAMENT / BBC RED BUTTON / BBC SCOTLAND / BBC IRELAND / BBC WALES / TBN UK.
When you have copied all channels to 11495V 44100, then DELETE transponder 10770h 30000 against 27.5w, you should only be left with all channels against 11495v 44100.
You then put this info back into the receiver (put usb into receiver)(menu)(usb upgrade)upgrade mode should read (user db)(then start)
With your dish pointing at 27.5w, and on a NEW CHANNEL (it should say(Encrypted Program) then go to the keys section to ADD a line in the BISS KEYS against the said channel, when you add a line (green) transponder details are shown) served (HEX) details comes up, add the keys and REMEMBER to SAVE, EXIT, then SAVE again, this should bring you back to your channel, it will still say (Encrypted Program)at this point (power off)the receiver with the (remote)wait a few seconds (power up)the receiver)the channel will clear with sound.

SOFTCAM, at this point, do (EXPORT) of your (SOFTCAM) to (USB), (OPEN) the file on your computer with word pad, scroll down to line , which should look like this.

B 1104 11495 : 44100 : V XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ;
amend the 1104 to read 0000 (4 zeros), save this info and then IMPORT back into the receiver, with this info you will ONLY need ONE LINE,
this will DECODE ALL CHANNELS ON 27.5W.

Now that we have all the channels in your receiver (now working), now comes the next problem, when you CHANGE CHANNEL, you will get (Encrypted Program) to DECODE the channel you will have to (power off) then (power on) again, the channel WILL CLEAR.

I HOPE THIS WORK AROUND HELPS YOU ALL

I don't know if this will work for what you are doing or not, many times when you scan in a BISS feed you will get 2 or 3 CHs on the feed, you add the keys and only 1 CH will open, then you put it on the other CH and it want open untill you power off then on, the way I fix this is to move to the next CH with it not open press menu go to the BISS key section and press add BISS keys, only add the key and let all the other CH info stay as it is, do this for each CH and save it, this mite work or it mite not.

With what you have wrote is with the likes of ESPN on 15w were you have two channels on the same transponder ( but with two set's of keys).
To get around this you have to have two transponders almost the same, you do this with the (db editor).
ESPN 901 against 12610h 7553 / ESPN 902 against 12609h 7552, with the correct keys against each channel, (keys already within the receiver)
With the V8 NOVA ORANGE when you go to that satellite you have to (power off / on) to clear the said channels.
With the V8x (all this was already in the receiver when I transferred the channel list.
So when I first went to 15w, my receiver was set up to have ESPN 901 as my first channel, when it then went into (biss auto roll) found the keys(which I already had in the soft cam), changed channel to ESPN 902, were I had to (power off / on) to decode the channel.

With the SATBACK CHANNELS on 27.5w there is ONLY, ONE set of keys for ALL channels, so in the soft cam you only require one line
On the V8 NOVA ORANGE, when you go to each channel you have to (power off / on ) to decode the channel.
With the V8x , when you get to what ever channel you left your receiver on, you still have to power off / on to decode the channel, any channel change after that (decodes straight away), when you move away from 27.5w and then return, you will have to power off / on as before.

I know it is a pain in the back side, BUT IT WORKS.

Hope this helps others

Yes, it will be.
But in V8x, we can't reproduce the situation.

New software will be released to solve the problem of (scanning in the said channels) and not having to switch off and on to decode the channels.

This is for the V8X model.

Thanks goes to the GTMEDIA team (Alex)

I'm trying to apply this method to my new GTMedia V8X and I'm a bit confused.

Here is what I did:
* I updated the box to the last firmware version: GTMedia_V8X_Release_V319_20220519
* I'm able to create the satellite and the frequency and I see signal and quality.
* (I have another receiver, so I know that the dish points to the right satellite)
* I used the Conditional Access + 6666 to add the BISS key.
* I used the DBEditor to create the description of the BBC channel.
* I switch on and off.
But it always says "Program encrypted".

Problems that I have with this instructions:
* I cannot insert this "(10)ecm = 1" as this is grey in the interface and "blocked" to 0 in the DBEditor. I do not know if this is important
* I'm not sure how to associate the key with the channel (and if there is a method to do it or this happens automatically).

Is anyone willing to share a v8x_db.bin file that has the Intelsat 907 (actually now the 901) channels in it to learn how it is done?

Thanks,

NOTE; I believe I understood that sid = 17540 in the channel description is the same as the id that is on the softcam.key but it is in hexadecimal (4484) . That should be the link.

Since i last wrote this, i have now moved onto the (Mars) software for this receiver (V8X).
With V319 you should be able to scan in the said channels, then add the keys into the softcam. Latest old software is V325 Dated 6 Dec 2022 add this.
You can do this one or two ways, add the keys with the remote, have it on one of the channels, Menu/Network/ Move curser over to Network Config /
Press 6666 / Move curser to Key Edit / OK / Move curser to Biss / OK / Press Green on the Remote / Move curser to KeyData / OK / Remove all the Zero's, by Pressing the Red button on the remote, the add the keys D5XXXXXXXXXXXX62 / Then press the yellow button to save / Exit / Then the receiver will ask (Are you sure to save) Yes, to this, that should be it.
The other way to add keys is using word pad on the computer after (Exporting) the softcam to a USB.
Menu /Tools/Conditional Access/OK/Key Edit/OK/Bottom (Green), to put the information back into the receiver from the USB.
Do as above, Bottom (Red) (Import).
When you do a (Export) of your softcam, the line for 27.5w should look like this.

B 0000 11495:44100:V D5XXXXXXXXXXXX62 ;
After (;) you can put the detail of say (BBC 27.5W), this is for reference only, it does not effect the softcam.

The SID is the ident for the channel, ie 17540 is BBC ONE / 17608 is ITV 1 / 20256 is for FIVE SELECT.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer and help!.

The upgrade to version V325 (that I could not find in this forum but it is easy to Google) solved all my issues. While the version V319 was not able to scan anything automatically in 11495 V (44100) (and required a complicated manual procedure that I was not able to satisfactory complete) the version V325 worked for me.

So I saved the GTMedia_V8X_V325_20221206.bin in a USB and burned in the receiver. After manually adding the Intelsat 901 satellite in the "Satellite list", using "Antenna setup" to select the new satellite, press "Recall" to see an empty TP list and "add" the transponder, it scans the frequency perfectly and gives you back a nice list of channels automatically (22 tv and 11 radio).

All HD channels, SD channels and radio work perfectly!.

Glad to hear that you are now sorted, just remember at 1900hrs, CBBC and CBEEBIES change to BBC THREE and BBC FOUR, you may have to do a rescan to see these channels, the (SID) for BBC THREE is (17920) / BBC FOUR is (18048)HD, SD wise BBC THREE (4288) / BBC FOUR (4544).
From your location, what other satellites can you get, can you get 5w/ 15w /30w.

I confirm that this evening I was able to add BBC THREE and BBC FOUR (both HD and SD) by using "Single Satellite Search" and selecting "Full Scan". Thanks you very much for your support
