Re: DVB-S2 HEVC 4.2.2. Format

Here in NZ I too see 4.2.2 feeds and no Freesat unit has yet shown them. These are feeds that show colour bricks with the first collum correct. Recording these feeds and playing them back on a PC works. There is now another sort of TP on many sats here that scans in one channel and have broken audio...

Re: v8 golden 11/7/2019 firmwere problem

place a unpacked copy of the software on a usb stick and rename it "flash.bin"
Power on while repeat pressing the menu button.

The unit should reload the software.

Re: Intelsat19 Discovery NETWORK

Today another TP has gone, 4080, JPN Disc.
I would expect the last, 3761, to go over night tonight.

Re: hi gtmedia

You will need to list the satellite and frequency for that question.

Some powervu encrypted channels find their own codes with the Freesat box, but for iderto and others you will need a ccam account if there is one.

Re: Intelsat19 Discovery NETWORK

Yes first yesterday the 4040 TP for discovery stopped decoding and today the 3981 TP has also gone. That leaves the 4180 and 3761 TP's still de- encrypting for discovery on Intelsat19@166e. It supprises me that this had not happened earlier, like last year. It may be a hash mode change as they still...

Re: V-73HD not getting signal

Please explain more. Do you mean you are not getting any ssatellite signals or that the unit is not powering on correctly. For satellites you need to set up the antenna settings for each satellite you have a dish for, or the dish you are connected to. For universal LNB's if you have not set up corre...

Re: displaying the actual satellite name you aim at?

Yes as juan-vale says you need to set your LNB to the band you need. When you are moving your dish, in the usarl or DiSEqC setting, it should be looking for the TP you have selected. If your TP data is out of date, also as juan-vale says, you will not see any peak. I use my finder with a tone finder...

Re: Help with Receiver v8pro2

If you have a USB stick in the unit and press record the unit will record the channel you are on. Because the tuner in the unit is tuned to that frequency you can watch another channel on that same frequency, or one of the channels on the terrestrial tuner. Yes it is tricky to change channel once th...

Re: V7hd

One way to check if the computer inside your V7 is working is to hold a AM raido near the V7. You should hear loud static noise from the AM radio. There is also the RS232 method of recovery. There are my notes for this on the Download / others / RS232 recovery for the V8 Finder. The V7 is very much ...

Re: displaying the actual satellite name you aim at?

When you "blind" scan you will see the transponders (TP's) on that sat.
You can then compare those against sites like lyngsat dot com to see what sat you are on.
The sat name in receivers is held in the unit and you can "Add" new sats and name them anything you want.

I assume you have the newer V8 Finder-meter that does multistream.

Please explain what those two options are? Are they channel names or a multistream format.

You can not watch two channels..
You can record one and watch another on the SAME TP (frequency), or record off Terrestrial and watch satellite.

I took the cover off mine and drilled a 12mm hole in the black top cover where the remote receiver is. The cover plastic is too dark. If you use it with the cover off you can point the remote at any wall and it will work. The same thing happens with the other new Freesat units, like the V7s and V7pl...

Re: Buying new Gt media reciever

If you want to get the channel nine multistream mux off intelsat19@166e the only Freesat box that sort of does it is the V8 Pro2. The Freesat V8 Finder-meter does multistrem fully. The V8Pro2 opens the mux by tuning to a channel and then unplug the LNB cable for a moment and you get one set of the f...

Re: GT MEDIA v7s hd freeze

This could be over heating.
Place you unit on sticks or something to lift it off the shelf and do not place anything on top.
Also using a USB can add to the heat.
If you have a small PC fan, you could place that to cool the unit.

Re: GTMedia V8 Finder (which firmware)

Yes that looks to be the updated software for the V8 Finder-meter.

As for the TP list, the best way to update is to set up your own sat list and blind scan each sat as you use them.
I find some of the TP info is incompleate, ie no SR, just the frequency.
