Hello,
The receiver in object cannot display some italian terrestrial transmissions coded in HEVC Main10@L5.1 (H265),
it can manage only terrestrial transmissions coded in HEVC Main10/HE AAC L2 (H264).
In particular the GTMedia V8 Finder pro 2 cannot display the 3 main national channals: Rai1 HD, Rai2 HD, Rai3 HD (Ch.501,502,503).

To update copy the software file from here on the download page.
unpack the .zip folder and copy the .bin file onto a USB stick.
With that in the Finder Pro2, select upgrade menu and the file.

Set up the satellites you need and then blind scan them.

Re: GTMedia V8 Finder Pro 2 - upgrade needed
It seems like the issue is related to the HEVC Main10@L5.1 profile, which the V8 Finder Pro 2 doesn’t fully support. Many recent Italian DTT HD channels, especially the Rai HD ones, have switched to higher-level HEVC encoding, so older or limited hardware cannot decode them.
It might help if GTMedia could confirm whether a future firmware update will add support for Main10@L5.1, or if this is a hardware limitation of the tuner/decoder chip. If it’s hardware-related, unfortunately a software update may not be enough.
Has anyone heard any official statement from GTMedia regarding HEVC L5.1 support on this model?

I enjoy exploring satellite TV technology, testing new software versions, and improving device performance. Always open to helpful tips and discussions.

Re: GTMedia V8 Finder Pro 2 - upgrade needed
From what you’ve described, this sounds like a codec limitation rather than a fault with your device or signal. The GTMedia V8 Finder Pro 2 seems to support HEVC Main10 in specific profiles, but not the HEVC Main10@L5.1 profile that some Italian terrestrial channels (like Rai1 HD, Rai2 HD, and Rai3 HD) are now using.
This is why other channels may work while those three do not. Unfortunately, this is usually limited by the hardware decoder and firmware, so it often can’t be fixed fully with a simple software update.
Also, you did the right thing by being cautious about the “connection is not private” warning — it’s safer not to open links like that or enter any personal information on insecure pages.
If possible, I’d recommend checking whether a firmware update is available from the official manufacturer or using an external decoder that fully supports HEVC Main10@L5.1.
