Are the V8 finders more than a battery-powered receiver, integrated control buttons and TV screen?
Which has the function of a spectrum analyzer or display BER and Decibel ?
Is the Finder somehow calibrated?

The current V8 Finder V-71HD is as you say a battery powered TV.
It is basically a V7HD unit with a screen and battery with the encrypted functions removed.
The newer V8 Finder-Meter has a spec analiser, but it is under development.
The new Finder-Meter does Multistream TP's.
