Is this a finder or what ? this needs another finder to find any sat. This is useless.

Yes I too use a tone finder in the LNB cable.
It is useful as you are outside at the dish and can fine tune using an active channel.
I also use mine as a camping TV and get 4-5 hours from the battery.
