Hi there I am having an issue with my newly Gt media v8 pro 2 finder I don’t know if someone can help me with the problem my finder only works if the charger is plug in and after unplug the charger it will stay on for you to use it and d o whatever you want to do but when you switch the switcher button of and on it again it will not work until you plug the charger in while the switch is on then the gt logo appears again but when you unplug the charger and switch the on the power button it will come and go off repeatedly until I again plug the charger before it can stay on I don’t if I can get any help from an experts here note the finder is just an 1 and half months old so it’s a new finder…

Re: V8 pro2 finder
These battery powered units check the battery level before power on.
If the battery is low they will not power on.
With the charger plugged in the battery level is higher and the unit powers on.
This may mean your battery is dead, will not charge / hold a charge.
It may have been left powered on in storage.
these finders will shut down from powered on mode when they detect the battery is too low.
After that shut down the finder will continue to use a very small amount of power from the battery.
This over time will "Kill" the Li battery by taking it below the kill voltage where the battery eats it self.
Caution!!!!!
Do not leave this unit on charge in your house.
I had this and my finder went into Li battery fire mode.

I have also found that these finders still use power form the battery while turned off.
This means I need to recharge my finders every 3 months to stop them from killing their batteries.
This with the earlier Finder-Meter V73, but the newer Finder 2 (Green) also does this.
Currently my Finder Pro (1) is refusing to charge.
I have looked at the circuits inside these finders and the power switch is, and can not be, at the battery.
Because when the charger is connected, the processor is used to control the Li battery charging, the battery is connected to some parts of the circuit all the time.
So if this unit had waited on a warehouse shelf for a year before it was sent to you, or the power switch was "ON", the battery will be dead / killed.
Again please be safe with charging a dead / killed Li battery.
