Los GTmedia y las claves biss

Post by akromai »

Saludos.
Muchas gracias

Hi

In most feeds there is what is called a CW key.
Some feeds do not have this or have many false CW keys.

The set top box (STB) looks through the video data for these CW keys and sends them via the internet to a server.
This server looks at the CW and the longitude for the satellite the STB has sent the information for.
If it is a known code it will quickly return the BISS key.
If it is a new CW code, it does the calculations and then returns the BISS code for the STB to test.
If the tested BISS code is incorrect, a false CW, then it sends another CW and tries again.
There are known tables of conversion from CW to BISS and this calculation method.

A good CW normally returns the BISS code in a few minutes, 5-15.
If there are many false CW keys, it can take longer or not return a BISS code at all.

I have seen feeds that come up an hour before they are needed with the good CW for only 30 seconds and when they return later they do not have a correct CW code in them.
Other feeds never have a CW.

Note that the server keeps codes referenced to the satellite longitude.
If you have an incorrect longitude in your STB, the server will not look for a known code for that feed.
This helps as if I have already connected with that feed and the server has found / calculated the BISS code, then it does not need to do it again and returns the code quickly.
