The player updated automatically to v. 2.15. It fixed various issues.... mainly, video freezing, unable to select certain channels from channel list, but it still has a problem when switching channels and will get stuck in "tuning".

The only option is to exit program and restart.... then the player will tune in the channel.

Is the DVR function working yet?

I formatted a 8gb Kingston usb as a ntfs drive and the player recognizes it. It will create an Android folder in the root drive.

The android folder has other folders that are empty because I assume the dvr function is not working yet. Also, the dvr function is very unresponsive when selected. It will freeze and the only way out is to exit the player and start all over.

I am using a Sony Bravia android tv with android 9 to test the MATE and player program. The program scans in the atsc 3.0 channels but obviously they do not display video or audio.

Hope to see further improvements to the program.

Currently, it requires devices with Android 9.0 or above to support it. We will improve it later and support your current device. Can you provide your device model?
You can download the latest version and take a look. The latest version currently supports QAM-B (Clear QAM')

I would recommend supporting Windows and Linux earlier. Most people who use ATSC devices have Windows and Linux PCs they use to record and playback shows. Your competitors provide SDKs for Windows as they know that is a huge portion of who will use your device.

I've been using the HDTV Mate for a few weeks now, and while the tuner itself is actually pretty good, the software "HDTVPlayer" on the other hand is fairly buggy & has a massive issue that needs to be addressed: within the past few days i've noticed a huge spike in mobile data usage on my phone, and for a minute i thought it was just android incorrectly reporting but then when i checked my mobile account it showed nearly the same stats so i ran a few tests, first i went offline to see if the tuner would still pick up channels and for the non-drm 3.0 channels yes they work w/o wifi or data, then i did a clean install by uninstalling & reinstalling the app (note: the first 14.5GB was indeed from HDTVPlayer but now shows as removed apps) and an hour later another 1.7GB was used, then the final test i conducted was figuring out the source so i used a network monitor for about 10 minutes, another ≈250mb in that timeframe and this is the address within the logs that shows up w/ huge data usage: "api.bugfender.com", now correct me if i'm wrong but as far as i know for the most part this application isn't supposed to use data, or in the future if you do get drm certification only a very tiny amount, as it mainly relies on the tuner to pick up over the air atsc 1.0 & 3.0 signals

Yes, it works like windows error reports, but with network monitors you're able to see the logs of internet traffic, urls & how much data was used, among other things, and in this case i strongly believe it's a bug since the large data transfers appear to be almost all sends

normally if you were streaming video or a watching a live stream the data logs should be showing received, because the data packets come from a server are being received to the end user, but in this case whatever is going on within the hdtvplayer program it's asking for an unlimited amount of data send requests

i have emailed the support team, but also thought i'd post about it on the forums as well so others could be aware in the meantime because not everyone has an unlimited data plan and might unknowingly be using a lot more than they normally would (which the app shouldn't be using anyway)

So i recently had the opportunity to test HDTVPlayer V2.24e and i'm glad to say that the data usage bug has been resolved, and like some of the tweaks like finally adding hardware/software decoding options for 3.0 channels and adding a button for on screen mini-guide, but now i have an entirely new problem where some channels are no longer working, in my region atsc 3.0 is broadcasted on RF19 & RF34, and while the RF34 (593MHz) channels continue to play just fine, it's some like RF19 (503MHz) that are now displaying a black picture w/ no sound, i've already contacted lining with my findings but also posting here so others are aware

In NYC some of the ATSC 3.0 stations have "Broadcast Apps" (4.1, 47.1). Tapping the Broadcast App in the menu brings up a a dialog "Press OK to begin your experience" with the station logo and a remote directional pad.

As I'm using this on a tablet, I tried to tap the OK button on the screen but it doesn't bring up the Broadcast App. (Can't watch the DRM protected channel either which might be the issue as well.)

When DRM Is functional on this app, will tapping the OK button on the screen pull up the Broadcast App?
