Problem with firmware version Y410.A11.1.5

Post by Mankie »

My converter X1 was updated to this version and now it stuck in HDTVplayer. Can’t exit out from it, no way to go to home page, no way to run other apps. Is this by design for this version? If yes, how to downgrade to the previous version?

After software upgrade the remote is unpaired.
It will now work by IR so use it close to the X1.

Remote works fine, it’s not a problem of the remote.

After the upgrade I was frustrated to discover I was unable to run the settings app, which meant that I couldn't turn off the audible click as you pressed buttons. I also couldn't reboot the box from the interface (I have to unplug it for 10 seconds now to reboot). Otherwise I guess I prefer this way because it starts right into the app and stays there. I'm curious what other apps you use? (I'm not going to say "you shouldn't do that". I'm really just curious.)

The GT Media Android GT Combo box has a remote reboot.
Try press and hold the power button, a menu for off, reboot and screen shot appears.

Indeed, how to go back. To me, this "upgrade" is a downgrade. I bought and paid for the device with the Andriod app compatible home screen. I want that back. I've done a factory reset twice, but that doesn't change the firmware. Where can previous firmware versions be downloaded?

Can is the old version out here somewhere ? I agree ... let us exit back out of the app. I like the ability to get back to the OS as well. BUT MY BIGGEST issue with this is my ATSC3 channels are no longer working. It seems like the old version worked better in low signal conditions. Between the two issues I'd like to try back reving my machine.

Also -- I like to sort the channels by channel number, the sorting gets lost on a reboot. I defiantly think the update REDUCES the value of the box due to taking away the option to get to the OS AND .. I'm about 80% sure it reduces signal sensitivity somehow. I cant verify this because now I cant get back the old version and I've been working to try to maximize the signal strength of my antenna system. What we had before was an awsome combination streamer and TV receiver... now we just have a basic TV receiver and Im not sure it actually can receiver atsc3.0 at all (and yes I have internet connectivity and yes .. I received several atsc 3.0 stations prior to the update). I may try reaching out to tech support, but if I cant get this to work, I'll update several of the Youtube content providers and Amazon reviews and request a total refund.

There is an open FW v6 that brings the X1 back to a streaming box.
