Sorry I would not call it a USB C. I guess the proper name is USB A 3.0. Try to power the X1 without the power transformer plugged in. It should power up so it may be the USB cable are using. I can assure you that this way to power the X 1 works. I can even send a video to your email if needed.

I assume you need to try a different cable. I am using a USB A to USB B with a USB B to USB A adapter. I would try a different cable.

Also did you scan for any ATSC 1.0 channels and can you view them?

Would a larger amp power supply work as well.

I have seen this same under power issue with many GT Media units from the V8 Golden to the GT Combo.
Under power when the processor is very busy and crashes or other this happen.

The V8 Golden ( earlier version of the later V8 Turbo or V8X) would fail to switch LNB switches due to the power surge as the LNB powered on. A 2A power supply (supplied was 1.5A) stopped most of that.

A 3a supply for these X1 units, maybe even a charge cable from a power bank with a 3A output.

I am getting some ATSC 1.0 channels, but I'm not sure how to easily tell if I'm on an ATSC 1.0 decoding scheme versus 3.0. Only a few channels actually show up, even though the auto-scan has picked them up, and I know only the ones on RF channel 33 should be ATSC 3.0 capable (based on ]

You have NOT sent an email as the forum email has not worked since

Use the forum PM system.

I looked today and I can change the forum setting so every users email address is shown (One user at a time) in place of the forum sending, but I think that is exposing too many email address's.

Owen,

Yes you can upgrade the barrel power to a 5 volt 3 amp transformer. I will be testing this next week once it arrives.

Hello, noting that the update file for GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 has been removed. When can we expect a new update file to be available? The HDTV player app doesn't see the USB external storage device I have plugged in but the base Android operating system does see it. Any help with this issue would be appreciated. Also, while watching Super Bowl yesterday the video stream kept jumping like the system was constantly buffering making it unwatchable on ATSC 3.0 channel. Had to go to ATSC 1.0 channel. Thanks.

Are you using v2.35a of HDTV Player?
Have you formated your USB drive correctly? I would take it to a computer and reformat it.

I am having a similar problem with getting 3.0 channels to list in my channels, 1.0 channels are no problem. I live about 35 miles from my ATSC 3.0 tower which is RF32 Charlotte, NC market, Rabbit Ears say it has 4 encrypted stations and 1 unencrypted Of which I recorded an excellent copy of the Super bowl from FOX - the unencrypted station with my HDHomerun 4K. I use a Televes Dat Boss LR antenna with a Televes amplified 4 tv splitter. The GTx1 autoscan scans RF32 locks and then say No channels added.
IMG_0026.JPG
I have updated HdTVplayer to v2.35a. I have updated my power supply to a transformer with 5V, 3A with barrel connector. I'ved tried everything in the forums I can find, about rescanning deleting data, caches, rebooting and so on but still no joy. I think there is a lot of merit in the X1 and will be very good once the bugs are worked out. 1.0 works fine for me but I need the 3.0 with DRM to make it for me because I have some weak signals for some of my
stations, CBS and NBC. I have trees around me and can't get good signals on all antennas at one time. RF32 has them all on 3.0
Thanks, Rick

If by version "updated HdTVplayer to v2.35a" you mean "X1_v1.0_Y410.A11.1.3_20250117.zip" that software was withdrawn by GT Media on Mon Feb 10, 2025.

users had reported problems with this version.

I expect they are working on it with the feedback they got.

Keep watch for a new release.

Owen,

Where are you getting your information on the V3 firmware update ? I have lost all contact from GTMEDIA because I think Chinese New Year and no one is at work.

I installed the V3 FW update without issues. What issues have been reported? You can also post on my AVS Forum on the subject.

My main issues on the X1 V3 FW v2.35a App is the soundtrack fallout out of sync on all ATSC 3.0 .

Rick,

I respect that you have researched and tested fixes to your unit before reaching out. You can also post here

On your information page in HDTV Player are you sure you are using V 2.35a?
You have a fine set up. I have noticed on my two units I had to remove my antenna amplifier as it was introducing too much gain and interference in certain RFs. I would try bypassing the powered antenna amp. At 35 miles to the towers you may not need it. It is worth a try.

If that does not work I would recommend your record a 2 min TS stream under manual scan for the specific RF and email it to support@gtmedia.cc. Here is how to do it.

The report I seen on the new X1 software was this one.
viewtopic.php?f=85&t=34298

Then Lining removed the software from this site.
Software posted 7 Feb and removed 10 Feb.
The X1 software topic was called "HDTV Converter X1_Version (17/01/2025)" but I think that was the version date.

I assume as it was removed that there were issues like that one reported.
I also assume
that GT media will fix the assumed issue and post another version.

After your test of the antenna, if you still have the issue you will need to record the .TS file and send it off to GTMEDIA for testing. You have great Signal Strength and S/R. I assume the broadcasting lighthouse is transmitting in a way that cause grief for the X1. I had a similar issue to my RF11 in Central Florida.

The update doesn't seem to have fixed the AC-4 audio dropping out, at least for me.

Tom,
I took the Televes 4 way splitter amplifier out of my system, and hooked the x1 directly to my antenna. I was really surprised by the result. My signal strength went down considerably on most stations but the SNR went up about 3 db on RF 32 - my ATSC 3.0 tower. Unfortunately, it made no difference in recognizing any ATSC 3.0 stations with change of the antenna or the new software. In the short time I played with it, The picture quality of the ATSC 1.0 appeared to may have improved slightly .

I tried to do a TS record of RF32, It will not record if it does not have a saved station of which I have none for RF32. I was a little sketchy with understanding the program. Let me know if I did something indifferent. The picture says it all! still no stations!

That sounds like noise interfering from the amplifier?

May be the X1 power supply is also adding noise?

Try power from a 3A power bank, or a 12v-5v adaptor in the car?

Also try with all other things in the room turned off, like Wifi, bluetooth, PC's, or take the X1 somewhere by it self.
Ground the outer of the antenna cable at the X1 too as most of these small power supplies pass NO grounding to the receiver.
That makes the TV the next ground via the HDMI cable and adds noise to the ground outer of the antenna cable.

Noise from the TV and other things in the room may have been grounding via the antenna cable to the amp.

With these higher data coding rates signals, like satellite FEC or 8/9, I also find that a bigger cleaner signal is needed.
My local satellite 8/9 FEC signal used to come in fine when it was FEC 3/4.

I am surprised you can't tune in that RF with you S/R being so high.
Yesterday a new FW was available to download. This FW is called SW Y410.A11.1.4. to install it you need to install the "Update" app from the GTSTORE found on the box. Download and install.
Please confirm you are using the most up to date HDTV Player app v 2.35a .

Try this and report back.

FW update to Y410.A11.1.4 while using HDTV Player V2.35a hoped to reduce my soundtrack out of sync issues and sound drop out on my RF 28 channels, but did not correct these issues on my RF 11 channels.
