Re: GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 4K Channel Watching
I received my GTMedia HDTV Converter X1 here in Orlando Florida USA. I got it set up and completed a channel scan. I received a total of 83 channels OTA. 8 channels of ATSC 3.0. Two of the channels of ATSC 3.0 Nextgen are DRM protected. I can record and play back all channels including ATSC 3.0 DRM protected channels.
I did have an issue when I first set up the box as it would not properly scan the Channels OTA so I contacted a GTMedia engineer and we were able to get a scan completed by powering the unit through the USB 3.0 input of the X1 using a USB cable and power plug.
I will continue to be testing out this unit over the next weekend. The DVR does have a 1 day program guide. I hope the DVR software can be improved over time to provide a 14 day program guide either OTA or through a subscription service like Schedules Directed here in the USA.

Yes, after the first time scan of all frequencies using USB 3.0 as a power source, you can then disconnect the USB power and reinstall the 5 volt power transformer and all future scan will work off of the 5 volt power transformer.

WNYovertheAir from Miami has also tested this machine. He tested this with 6 encrypted channels and he never connected it to the Internet. But it worked. This device has been burned with a key

Thank you very much for your test. At present, the EPG and DVR functions of GTMEDIA Converte X1 will be improved with the update of HDTV APP. We have successfully tested it and it is undergoing Google review. It will be available in about a week. You can follow the situation and test it again! Looking forward to your reporttag875 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 7:48 pmI received my GTMedia HDTV Converter X1 here in Orlando Florida USA. I got it set up and completed a channel scan. As for the subscription to support the 14-day EPG function, we will launch a user vote later. If most people need this function, we will arrange it in the first project. Thank you for your understandingtag875 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 7:48 pmI received my GTMedia HDTV Converter X1 here in Orlando Florida USA. I got it set up and completed a channel scan. Re: GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 4K Channel and Broadcast app
Well,, Just Got my GtMedia X1 today. Hooked it up to Ethernet/ Hdmi Out to my Onkyo A/V Reciever and can confirm that it is working on my Sony 4K Tv and my Sony 1080P Projector ceiling mount. 2 DRM channels come in fine . Need to find the way to setup favorites list, but for now have channel list set by numbers ( works for me ). by the way 86 channels scanned in. See how it holds up.
Re: GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 4K Channel and Broadcast app
Having trouble on A/V receiver HDMI from X1 . I set the Dispay resolution to 1080p and it will go to 480i if I change HDMI ports to watch something else. Need solid lock on 1080p on the X1. I have tjhe auto resolution off also. Hope for software update maybe.
Re: GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 4K Channel and Broadcast app
I just purchase a GTMEDIA Converter X1. When going through the setup and menu of the box. The picture quality is good. It is a little bit slow when changing channels. The DVR could be better like make it where you can do schedule recording like where you can set it to record once, daily, weekly or new. That would be a great feature if you can do a firmware update or programing update to give us that feature. If this can be done that would be great. I will attach a picture of what my other converter box DVR schedule recording looks like as a reference.

I have my X1 connected to my Sony Bravia XBR-65x900E using HDMI port 2 or 3 and select in your settings Enhanced Format to display high quality HDMI signals 4k 60 p 4:2:0 10 bit 4:4:4.
You may need to make this adjustment to get full 4k out of the X1. I get full 1080p on my ATSC 3.0 channels and my TV up scales to 4k.

Re: GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 4K Channel Watching
How were you able to get in touch with a GTMedia engineer? I'm having issues with my Converter X1 and I think I need to get in touch with one of the GTMedia engineers before I return the unit.
Re: GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 4K Channel and Broadcast app
I replied to your post on your tuning issue. Sounds similar to my initial issue that I corrected.

Re: GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 4K Channel and Broadcast app
I decided to change the HDMI port on A/V ,,,I was using and it look to be working now. For whatever reason I was using the last port marked "CD" that may have been the issue. I'll check the Sony projector later when I use it. !!!!!!tag875 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 3:31 amI have my X1 connected to my Sony Bravia XBR-65x900E using HDMI port 2 or 3 and select in your settings Enhanced Format to display high quality HDMI signals 4k 60 p 4:2:0 10 bit 4:4:4.

Re: GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 4K Channel and Broadcast app
Most TVs only have one or two HDMI ports that can support 4k for a Blue Ray player or in your case a 4k streaming box. Within the Sony Android System you can adjust the HDMI port for enhanced 4k or standard 1k max.
Re: GTMEDIA ATSC3.0 Nextgen TV Converter X1 4K Channel and Broadcast app
Thanks, my Onkyo A/V Receiver has HDMI 7 in/ 2 out. I know if your tv is 4k and Projector is 1080p ,then the A/v receiver will go with the lowest setting of 1080P.
