Audio Output is not Dolby Digital 5.1. Only PCM 2 channel is output.

I recently bought a GTMEDIA HDTV Converter X1 and the HDTVplayer app only seems to output PCM 2 channel audio. It should pass through the broadcast 5.1 channel Dolby Digital signal. Is there a way to have the X1 pass-through the raw audio data so I can have proper broadcast 5.1 surround sound? My TV and audio receiver are new and supports all Dolby Digital formats. My Samsung TV Tuner sends the proper Dolby Digital 5.1 signal to my audio receiver. The GTMEDIA software on the system is:
