I have a new Hawkeye Ai15
I've used it for a week
The first 2 days were great. On black hot, it was like looking at Black and white TV. The 3rd day it was washed out and has got worse. The diaper does nothing and the objective adjustment does a little, but I just get a gray screen, and animals are black blobs. What's worse the green + that settles on the animals co erst it and doesn't let you try to determine what it is. How do I clear this up?

As few if any of us here have these units, so it is hard for use to comment.
Try the service email direct to GT Media.
I do not know if they do, but look for a facebook support page for these items too.

Re: won't focus
If the image quality dropped after the first couple of days, that usually points to a calibration or software issue rather than anything you can fix with the focus or diopter. A thermal scope shouldn’t suddenly wash out unless the internal NUC calibration isn’t triggering or the sensor is malfunctioning. When the reticle covers the target and you only see black blobs, it’s another sign the unit isn’t processing contrast correctly. At this point the best step is to run a manual NUC if the menu allows it, and if that doesn’t restore the image, contact Hawkeye support while it’s still new. A good thermal should not behave like that, so getting the manufacturer involved is the safest path.

Hi Chickm1,
It sounds like your Hawkeye Ai15 is having either a calibration issue or a software glitch. A few things to try:
Reset to Factory Settings – Most issues with washed-out or ghosting images can be fixed by doing a full reset. Check the manual for the exact procedure.
Check for Firmware Updates – Go to GTMedia’s website or contact support to make sure your device is running the latest firmware. Some early units have had display issues that were fixed with updates.
Re-calibrate the Image – Use the manual calibration settings rather than the auto or “diaper” adjustment. Sometimes black hot mode needs a fresh recalibration after a few hours of use.
Lens and Objective Clean – Make sure there’s no condensation or dirt on the objective lens that can cause washout or blurring.
Contact Support – If none of the above works, it may be a defective sensor. GTMedia support can advise about repair or replacement.
These devices are sensitive, and minor calibration or firmware fixes often restore normal performance.
