Converter X1 Problems

I too have soundtrack sync issues with my X1s on ATSC 3.0 channels. I think it has to do with how the "Dash" recording feature works on ATSC 3.0 in conjunction with selection of the proper HW or SW codecs.

I have provided data and recordings of this Soundtrack sync issue to engineering at GTMEDIA. I hope a software or firmware solution can be corrected soon.

I have two ATSC 3.0 lighthouses in my area of Orlando Florida. I do notice my RF 11 has more pronounced sync issues than does my RF 28 does. With this in mind I also think the broadcasters must be employing different procedures/processes to cause this soundtrack sync issue, but over time I have also had soundtrack sync issues in my YouTube and other streaming apps on the X1s AndroidTV 11 operating software.

With communications with other X1 users throughout the USA, many users have this sync issue that the sync timing grows over time once the channel is tuned in. Switching from HW to SW codecs does not correct it. Switching from HW to SW and back to HW does correct it instantly, but the fall out of sync over time. I think HW codecs provides a better viewing experience.

Hi Owen, I turn off the wifi on the X1 - Home/Wifi symbol top right n the corner takes me to Network and Internet - I slide the wifi switch to off. The box face turns red. After the channels came up, I went back and turned it back on. My channels continue to work. When I select a DRM channel, I see a notation "Signature Verified" Rick

tag875 has confirmed that even with cable internet the channels with not scan and save, only scans with both Wifi AND cable net disconnected will save the channels.

Engineers please note:
The X1 will not scan and save channels for video with DRM encryption if the internet is connected.
This is likely that the X1 is trying to decrypt the channel as it is being scanned and this interrupts the scan / save channel process.
